The Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking an intermediate Filipino (Tagalog) Language Review Specialist to evaluate AI-generated Filipino and Tagalog content. You will create gold-standard reference answers, provide precise written feedback, and assess language quality across accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, prompt adherence, meaning preservation, register, Taglish consistency, factual reliability, and safety.
This is a remote, part-time hourly contractor role open to candidates in the Philippines. The schedule requires 20+ hours per week, with compensation of up to $20 USD per hour.

What You’ll Do
Review and improve AI-generated Filipino and Tagalog outputs for correctness, clarity, naturalness, and cultural fit.
Create high-quality Tagalog reference content and model answers across common domains.
Compare multiple AI responses and rank quality based on fluency, fidelity, structure, tone, and safety.
Identify mistranslations, awkward literal phrasing, inconsistent honorifics, and Taglish or code-switching problems.
Flag unsupported claims, factual errors, bias, hallucinations, and policy-risk language when needed.
Write clear feedback explaining what is wrong and how the response should be improved.
Create rewrites and model answers that demonstrate strong Filipino writing and safe handling of misleading content.
Requirements
You should have native or near-native Filipino or Tagalog reading and writing ability, along with strong professional English for detailed written feedback. A bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Filipino, English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or a related field is required, or equivalent professional experience.
The work requires deep command of Filipino and Tagalog grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, tone, and cultural context. You should be comfortable explaining language issues in Tagalog, working across formal and informal registers, and handling Taglish appropriately for different audiences.
Native or near-native Filipino/Tagalog writing ability.
Strong professional English proficiency for rubric-based feedback.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant language-focused field or equivalent professional experience.
Background in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or related work.
Ability to review translations for meaning preservation and cultural fit.
Strong attention to subtle meaning shifts, hallucinated claims, and culturally mismatched phrasing.
Comfort evaluating AI outputs for fluency, safety, factual reliability, and policy risks.
Helpful Background
Prior experience in AI data training, translation QA, editorial QA, or rubric-based evaluation is strongly preferred. Experience creating prompts and gold-standard answers, using evaluation rubrics, ranking quality, or working in remote hourly contractor workflows across time zones will also be useful.
