Why AI Training Work Matters
AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback work) is the human side of building modern AI: people create, check, and improve the examples models learn from. This work is remote, flexible, and accessible — ideal for language professionals who enjoy detailed review, rewriting, and quality-focused evaluation.
Role Overview
You will review AI-generated Malay content, produce gold-standard answers, and evaluate model outputs for accuracy, fluency, tone, cultural fit, and safety. This is a contractor, part-time role for contributors located in Malaysia, requiring 20+ hours per week at a fixed rate of USD 20/hour.
Tasks focus on text data: evaluation ratings, text generation, and question answering. Strong English is required to write detailed feedback and explanations.
Employment type: Contractor, Part-time
Hours: 20+ hours/week
Pay: USD 20 / hour
Location requirement: Malaysia (remote)
Languages required: Malay (ms) and English (en)
What You’ll Do
Review Malay AI outputs for correctness, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, and cultural appropriateness
Create prompt responses and gold-standard Malay answers across domains such as general knowledge, customer support, education, and conversation
Compare and rank multiple AI responses by quality, safety, and adherence to instructions
Detect misleading or unsafe content, factual errors, bias, hallucinations, ambiguity, and logical inconsistencies
Produce clear rewrites and explanatory feedback that improve the final answer and guide model behavior
Requirements
Native or near-native Malay writing proficiency (reading and writing)
Strong professional English for detailed written feedback
Background in linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, literature, or equivalent professional experience
Experience in writing, editing, localization, translation QA, editorial QA, content QA, or rubric-based evaluation
Solid understanding of Malay grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, register, and regional variation
Ability to identify subtle meaning shifts, literal or awkward translations, and culturally mismatched phrasing
Comfort working as an hourly remote contractor across time zones and following rubric-based workflows
Who Should Apply
This opportunity suits language professionals who enjoy detailed linguistic analysis, constructive rewriting, and improving AI outputs through clear, teachable feedback.
If you have prior experience reviewing localized text, producing gold answers, or doing translation QA, you’ll be able to contribute immediately.
