The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Malay Language Reviewer to evaluate AI-generated Malay content, create high-quality reference answers, and provide precise written feedback. You will assess language quality across accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, prompt adherence, and meaning preservation.

You may also write rewrites and gold-standard answers that reflect strong Malay writing practices while identifying mistranslations, awkward literal phrasing, register mismatches, hallucinated claims, ambiguity, and logical inconsistencies.

What You'll Do

Your work will help improve the quality, reliability, and cultural fit of AI-generated Malay content across practical and conversational use cases.

• Review Malay AI outputs for correctness, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, and cultural fit
• Create prompt responses and gold-standard Malay answers across general knowledge, customer support, education, and conversational writing
• Compare multiple AI responses and rank them by quality, safety, and adherence to instructions
• Detect misleading or unsafe content, factual errors, bias, and policy-risk language
• Produce clear rewrites and explanatory feedback that improve final answers
• Identify mistranslation, awkward literal phrasing, register mismatches, hallucinated claims, ambiguity, and logical inconsistency

Requirements

This role is designed for an experienced Malay language professional who can make nuanced judgments and explain corrections clearly in written English.

• Native or near-native Malay proficiency in reading and writing
• Strong professional English proficiency for detailed written feedback
• Experience reviewing translations or localized text for meaning and cultural fit
• Background in linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, literature, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience in writing, editing, localization, translation QA, editorial QA, content QA, or rubric-based evaluation
• Strong understanding of Malay grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, style, register, and regional variation
• Ability to spot subtle meaning shifts, awkward literal translations, and culturally mismatched phrasing
• Ability to explain grammar, register, and style corrections clearly
• Comfort working in an hourly, remote contractor workflow across time zones
