The Spanish Audio Transcription Auditor Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Spanish Audio Transcription Auditor to review AI training audio data for transcription accuracy and word-level forced alignment. You will listen closely to Spanish speech, compare recordings with written transcriptions, apply defined error codes, and provide concise written reasons for your decisions.

The work focuses on Spanish as spoken in Spain and requires strong English reading and writing for detailed conventions, error codes, and audit feedback.

What You'll Do

You will assess whether annotator-produced transcriptions accurately capture human or agent speech. Audits should follow the provided rubric consistently, identify the most important issues, and make the reason for each failed judgment clear.

• Listen to recordings and compare spoken content with written transcriptions
• Assign a pass or fail verdict for each transcription
• Apply every relevant error code
• Write concise rationales explaining audit decisions
• Verify word-level start and end timestamps against the actual speech
• Confirm that reference transcriptions match the spoken forms
• Correct inaccurate word boundaries
• Split or merge segments when needed
• Add missing segments and remove segments containing no word
• Prioritize critical errors in failed judgments

Requirements and Preferred Experience

Native or near-native Spanish as spoken in Spain is required. You must also be able to read and write English confidently enough to understand conventions and error codes and provide detailed audit rationales.

Careful listening is essential, including the ability to distinguish similar sounds and identify word boundaries in continuous speech. You should be comfortable applying written rubrics consistently across many judgments.

Schedule, Location, and Pay

This is remote freelance work with a part-time commitment of less than 20 hours per week. The default expected schedule is 10 hours per week, and the rate is $39.50 per hour.
