The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Peninsular Spanish Audio Transcriptionist to produce accurate, verbatim transcripts of spoken Spanish recordings for AI training datasets. Recordings may include natural conversations with crosstalk, overlapping speakers, filled pauses, interruptions, background noise, and inconsistent audio quality.

This remote hourly contract is for contributors located in Mexico City. Work is asynchronous and can be completed on your own schedule, with a flexible commitment of 10-40 hours per week. The structured work requirement is 20 or more hours per week, and the advertised hourly rate is $10-$35.

What You'll Do

  • Listen to spoken Peninsular Spanish recordings and create precise verbatim transcripts
  • Identify and differentiate multiple speakers in a single recording
  • Apply conventions for timestamps, speaker labels, non-verbal sounds, filled pauses, and unclear segments
  • Flag unintelligible or ambiguous audio according to established protocols
  • Follow detailed style and formatting guidance across assignments
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency while working independently and asynchronously

Requirements

You should have native or near-native command of Peninsular Spanish, including Castilian vocabulary, expressions, accents, and regional speech patterns. Strong written Spanish, exceptional listening skills, and careful judgment are essential for handling difficult recordings.

  • No prior AI or technology experience required
