You should have native-level Peninsular Spanish vocabulary, expressions, accents, and speech patterns, along with strong written Spanish. Exceptional listening skills are important for understanding fast speech, interruptions, background noise, crosstalk, and overlapping dialogue.

A methodical, patient, and detail-oriented approach is essential. Experience in professional transcription, court reporting, stenography, subtitle creation, closed-caption editing, or media post-production may be useful, as may training in linguistics, phonetics, or language documentation. Experience with annotation, data-labeling workflows, regional Spanish accents and dialects, or specialized audio content is also relevant.
