The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Punjabi Quality Assurance Lead to review AI-generated Punjabi content and trainer QA submissions. You will assess work against project-specific rubrics and language guidelines, provide precise written feedback, and help remote Punjabi workflows maintain consistent standards.

This role focuses on Punjabi language quality, including accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, meaning preservation, formatting, and instruction following. The work is remote and contractor based, with opportunities in Canada, India, and Pakistan.

What You'll Do

You will combine detailed language review with clear team communication. Your feedback will help contributors meet project expectations and help identify recurring issues across Punjabi AI training workflows.

• Review Punjabi AI-generated content and trainer QA submissions for quality and consistency
• Assess work against project-specific rubrics and language guidelines
• Provide clear feedback on grammar, spelling, tone, register, and cultural fit
• Identify mistranslation, unnatural phrasing, inconsistent terminology, and other quality issues
• Help maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, examples, and onboarding materials
• Communicate updates and quality expectations to remote trainers and QAs
• Support onboarding, training calls, and workflow improvements
• Track recurring issues and escalate critical quality concerns

Requirements

You should be a native or near-native Punjabi reader and writer with strong English communication skills. Experience in Punjabi writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, or related language review workflows is required.

• Native or near-native Punjabi reading and writing ability
• Strong English communication skills for written feedback and team coordination
• Experience evaluating language content against detailed rubrics
• Familiarity with Gurmukhi and/or Shahmukhi script requirements
• Ability to identify mistranslation, unnatural phrasing, and inconsistent terminology
• Comfort working remotely with documentation and team communication tools
• Experience with AI training, data annotation, or rubric-based LLM QA is a strong plus

Helpful Background

Relevant academic or professional experience can help you succeed in this role, especially where it involves language quality, structured evaluation, or supporting distributed teams.

• Degree in Punjabi, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, English, education, quality assurance, or a related field
• Experience leading or supporting remote trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs
• Familiarity with localization QA and translation quality review
