The Role

You will lead Punjabi-language quality assurance for AI training projects: reviewing Punjabi AI-generated content and trainer QA submissions, checking outputs against project rubrics, and providing precise written feedback that helps contributors meet consistent standards. The position focuses on accuracy, fluency, grammar, tone, cultural appropriateness, meaning preservation, formatting, and instruction following.

• Review Punjabi model outputs and trainer QA work for quality and consistency
• Assess content against project-specific rubrics and language guidelines
• Deliver clear, actionable written feedback in English and Punjabi
• Maintain documentation and support onboarding for remote trainers and QAs

What You'll Do Day-to-Day

Work across documentation, quality checks, and team communication to keep Punjabi workflows organized and consistent.

• Score and annotate Punjabi text using project rubrics (evaluation/rating, RLHF tasks)
• Identify recurring errors (mistranslation, unnatural phrasing, inconsistent terminology) and track trends
• Edit and refine style guides, FAQs, examples, and trackers
• Support onboarding sessions, training calls, and workflow improvements
• Escalate critical quality concerns and recommend corrective actions

Requirements

We need a detail-oriented reviewer who reads and writes Punjabi fluently and can communicate feedback clearly in English.

• Native or near-native Punjabi reading and writing ability
• Strong written English for feedback and team coordination
• Experience in Punjabi writing, editing, translation, localization, or content QA
• Familiarity with Gurmukhi and/or Shahmukhi script considerations
• Ability to evaluate work against detailed rubrics and spot mistranslation or unnatural phrasing
• Comfort working remotely with documentation and team communication tools

Helpful Background

The following are not required but will help you succeed and advance into leadership or wider QA roles.

• Degree in Punjabi, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, Education, or a related field
• Experience leading or supporting remote trainers, annotators, reviewers, or QAs
• Familiarity with localization QA and translation quality review
• Prior experience with AI training, data annotation, or rubric-based LLM QA is a strong plus

Logistics, Schedule, and Pay

This is a remote contractor role with a part-time expectation of 20+ hours per week. OpenTrain hires contractors across Canada, India, and Pakistan for this project. Compensation is paid hourly at the rate below.

• Time commitment: 20+ hours/week (part-time contractor)

• Pay: USD 25.00 per hour
