The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Telugu Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across Telugu AI training projects. In this hourly remote contractor role, you will review AI-generated Telugu content and trainer QA work, evaluate output against project rubrics, and provide clear written feedback that helps contributors meet project standards.

The role focuses on Telugu language quality, localization review, translation fidelity, and culturally appropriate content. You will also monitor recurring issues, communicate updates, support onboarding, maintain project documentation, and help keep contributors engaged and active.

What You'll Do

• Review Telugu AI-generated content and trainer QA work for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, formatting, and meaning preservation.
• Identify recurring quality issues and escalate critical problems when needed.
• Share project updates, workflow changes, and quality expectations with trainers and QAs.
• Answer questions about Telugu wording, register, translation fidelity, cultural context, and regional usage.
• Maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
• Run onboarding and training calls covering project workflows, rubrics, and Telugu-specific style requirements.
• Help improve QA processes and support contributor activation and follow-up.

Required Qualifications

• Native or near-native Telugu proficiency with strong reading and writing skills.
• Strong English communication skills for guidelines, feedback, and team coordination.
• Strong understanding of Telugu grammar, punctuation, tone, register, regional variation, and cultural context.
• Experience in Telugu writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or related language-review workflows.
• Ability to evaluate content against detailed rubrics and identify mistranslation, literal phrasing, unnatural tone, hallucinated claims, ambiguity, and inconsistent terminology.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is strongly preferred.

Helpful Background

• A degree in Telugu, linguistics, translation, communications, journalism, English, education, quality assurance, or a related field.
• Experience with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, or project management systems.
• Experience with AI training, data annotation, large language models, prompt and response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA.
