About OpenTrain
OpenTrain is the #1 platform for people building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect skilled contributors with projects that shape how modern AI systems understand language and speech.
This role is offered through OpenTrain's platform: join a global community, build a profile, and apply in minutes.
About AI training and this kind of work
AI training is the human side of building machine intelligence: people prepare and review examples that teach models to read, speak, and behave correctly. Language-focused tasks like dictionary proofreading directly improve how models recognize words, spellings, and pronunciations.
These projects are typically remote and flexible, and they range from entry-level tasks to specialist work that requires native fluency or linguistic knowledge.
The role
You will proofread a Malay dictionary dataset: determine whether each headword is Malay, correct spelling when necessary, and verify or correct the pronunciation using the project phoneme set.
This is a contract, part-time position open worldwide to native Malay speakers. Candidates must pass a qualification test before starting.
What you'll do (examples)
Work through entries and apply two checks: 1) Is the headword Malay; if so, ensure correct orthography; 2) Proofread the pronunciation transcription to match the specified phoneme conventions.
- Original: polifonik p o . l i . f o . n i k → Corrected: polifonik p o . l i . f o . n i ?
- Original: poligami b o l . l i . g a . m i → Corrected: poligami p o . l i . g a . m i
- Original: polliglot p o . l i g . l a t → Corrected: poliglot p o . l i g . l o t
