The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Korean Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality and consistency across Korean AI training projects. You will review AI-generated Korean content along with trainer and QA submissions, apply project rubrics, and provide precise written feedback.

This is an intermediate-level, part-time contractor role for candidates in South Korea. The expected time commitment is 20 or more hours per week, with compensation of $45 USD per hour.

What You'll Do

You will help maintain a consistent quality standard across Korean-language AI training workflows. Your reviews should be accurate, well-supported by project guidelines, and clear enough for trainers and QAs to act on.

You will also help strengthen the processes around the work by documenting recurring issues, supporting onboarding, and keeping contributors aligned as project workflows change.

• Review Korean AI training outputs and trainer or QA work for quality and consistency.
• Check grammar, spelling, tone, honorific usage, speech level, register, and cultural fit.
• Apply project guidelines and rubrics to identify mistranslation, unnatural phrasing, ambiguity, and inconsistent terminology.
• Provide clear written feedback and communicate updates to trainers and QAs.
• Maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
• Support onboarding and training calls for trainers and QAs.
• Track recurring quality gaps and help improve Korean-language QA workflows.
• Help re-engage contributors and flag availability issues when needed.

Required Qualifications

You should be able to make nuanced Korean-language quality decisions and explain those decisions clearly in English. Experience may come from language review, localization, content quality assurance, AI training, annotation, or a related workflow.

Experience supporting remote teams, maintaining documentation, or working in QA processes is strongly preferred.

• Native or near-native Korean proficiency with strong reading and writing ability.
• Strong English skills for clear communication with teams and project stakeholders.
• Experience in Korean writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, annotation, or related language-review workflows.
• Strong understanding of Korean grammar, punctuation, honorifics, speech levels, tone, and cultural context.
• Ability to evaluate content against detailed rubrics and explain quality decisions clearly.
• Experience supporting remote teams, documentation, or QA workflows is strongly preferred.

Helpful Background

The following experience can help you succeed in this role, but the core requirements are strong Korean and English communication skills plus relevant language or QA experience.

• Degree in Korean, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• Experience with large language models, prompt or response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA.
• Comfort working in fast-moving remote environments with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management systems.
