About AI training and this work

AI training (data labeling, annotation, and human feedback) is the human side of how modern AI learns. Contributors prepare, review, and rate model outputs so systems become more accurate, safe, and culturally appropriate.

This role focuses on Korean-language evaluation and rubric-based review, a high-impact area where linguistic skill and cultural knowledge directly shape how models speak and understand Korean.

The role — what a Korean QA Lead does

You will oversee quality and consistency across Korean AI training projects: reviewing AI-generated Korean content and trainer/QA submissions, evaluating them against project rubrics, and delivering precise written feedback.

You will also maintain documentation and style guidance, identify recurring issues, support onboarding, and help keep distributed contributors aligned as workflows evolve.

What you'll do day-to-day

• Review Korean AI outputs and trainer/QA work for accuracy, fluency, and adherence to project rubrics.
• Check grammar, spelling, tone, register, honorific usage, speech level, and cultural appropriateness.
• Identify mistranslations, unnatural phrasing, ambiguity, inconsistent terminology, and formatting errors.
• Provide clear, constructive written feedback and communicate updates to trainers and QAs.
• Maintain and update style guides, FAQs, trackers, honeypots, examples, and onboarding materials.
• Support onboarding and training calls for trainers and QAs and help re-engage contributors when needed.
• Track recurring quality gaps and assist in improving Korean-language QA workflows and documentation.

Requirements

You must meet the stated language, experience, and availability requirements below; these are essential for success in the role.

• Native or near-native Korean proficiency with strong reading and writing ability.
• Strong English skills for clear written and verbal communication with teams and stakeholders.
• Experience in Korean writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, annotation, or related language-review workflows.
• Strong understanding of Korean grammar, punctuation, honorifics, speech levels, tone, and cultural context.
• Ability to evaluate content against detailed rubrics and explain quality decisions clearly.
• Experience supporting remote teams, producing documentation, or managing QA workflows is strongly preferred.

Helpful background and tools

The following are not required but will help you hit the ground running.

• Degree in Korean, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, Education, QA, or a related field.
• Experience with large language models, prompt/response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA.
• Comfort working in fast-moving remote environments and common collaboration tools such as Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management systems.

Working details, pay, and how to apply

This is a part-time contractor role requiring 20+ hours per week. The position is limited to contributors based in Korea (country: KR). OpenTrain AI hires contractors directly for this project.

Pay is hourly at USD 45.00. The work focuses on text data (label type: evaluation rating, RLHF). Languages required: Korean (ko) and English (en).
