The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Slovak Language AI Evaluation Expert to review AI-generated Slovak content and create high-quality reference material for language model training. You will assess whether responses are accurate, fluent, idiomatic, culturally appropriate, logically consistent, and aligned with the prompt.

The role is listed as entry level, while the requirements call for at least three years of relevant language, writing, editing, localization, translation, content quality, journalism, education, or related experience. It is a remote hourly contractor position for workers in Slovakia.

• Languages: native or near-native Slovak and professional English at C1 or higher
• Data focus: text generation, evaluation and rating, RLHF, and translation or localization
• Workload: 20 or more hours per week
• Pay: $20 per hour
• Engagement: part-time contractor

What You’ll Do

You will create prompts and gold-standard Slovak answers across general knowledge, customer support, education, conversational writing, translation, localization, and culturally sensitive topics. You will also provide precise written feedback that helps identify strengths, weaknesses, and needed revisions in AI-generated responses.

Your evaluations will consider language quality as well as meaning, context, safety, and cultural fit. You will write clear Slovak rewrites and model answers that preserve intended meaning while improving accuracy, clarity, and natural phrasing.

• Review grammar, spelling, diacritics, punctuation, tone, register, terminology, meaning preservation, and phrasing
• Identify mistranslations, ambiguity, factual hallucinations, bias, unsafe content, misleading content, and cultural mismatches
• Compare multiple AI responses for correctness, fluency, fidelity, structure, safety, tone, and cultural appropriateness
• Rate responses using defined evaluation criteria and explain your decisions in detailed written feedback
• Produce idiomatic Slovak rewrites and reference answers for model training

Requirements

This role requires exceptional Slovak reading and writing ability, deep knowledge of Slovak grammar and style, and the judgment to recognize subtle differences in meaning, register, and cultural appropriateness. Professional English is required for understanding guidelines and delivering detailed feedback.

• Native or near-native Slovak proficiency
• Deep knowledge of Slovak grammar, cases, declension, conjugation, aspect, word order, spelling, punctuation, diacritics, tone, and style
• Ability to distinguish formal, neutral, conversational, professional, educational, and public-facing registers
• Ability to detect unnatural translations, terminology problems, ambiguity, and subtle meaning shifts
• Ability to produce idiomatic Slovak rewrites that preserve meaning and improve clarity
• Professional English proficiency at C1 or higher
• At least three years of experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or related language work
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in linguistics, Slovak language or literature, translation, communications, journalism, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
• Prior AI data training, translation QA, editorial QA, localization QA, or rubric-based evaluation experience is helpful
