Italian-Speaking Transcription Specialist

You will listen to short Italian recordings and write clean, standardized verbatim transcripts. The work is transcription, not translation or creative writing, so your text should reflect what the speaker said.

You will also complete simple listening checks, including flagging unclear or unusable audio and marking sections that cannot be understood with confidence. Accuracy and consistency matter more than speed.

• Transcribe short Italian audio clips using detailed guidelines.
• Follow spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and transcription conventions consistently.
• Review audio and select the correct options for unclear or unusable sections.
• Make careful judgments when recordings are imperfect.

What it pays and takes

This is long-term, ongoing contractor work with a steady daily workload. You must be able to follow the required weekday schedule and use web-based tools in a quiet setting.

• Pay: $11 per hour.
• Schedule: About 1 hour per day, Monday through Friday, for 12 or more months.
• Flexibility: Complete the daily work at a time that works for you, within the required daily cadence.
• Location: You must currently live in Italy; Italy-based applicants only.
• Language: Fluent Italian speaker with professional-level written accuracy; bilingual English required.
• Experience: Intermediate level. Transcription, captioning, subtitling, or speech data labeling and quality assurance experience is preferred.
• Skills: Strong Italian spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and standard language conventions.
• Requirements: Reliable internet, a suitable computer, quality headphones, and a quiet work environment.
• Before starting: Complete a short Italian transcription screening sample.
