The Role

OpenTrain is seeking an Indonesian Speech Evaluation Expert to review audio clips containing AI-generated Indonesian speech. You will assess the quality and authenticity of spoken outputs and provide detailed feedback that supports an AI language-training initiative.

This is a remote, part-time contractor opportunity open worldwide. The expected time commitment is 20 or more hours per week, with compensation of $60–$65 per hour.

What You'll Do

You will listen closely to AI-generated audio and document consistent, linguistically informed assessments. Your observations will help project teams identify quality issues and improve model performance.

You may also discuss findings with project coordinators, clarify evaluation guidelines, and suggest improvements to the frameworks used to assess spoken AI outputs.

• Evaluate Indonesian audio for native quality, fluency, pronunciation, intonation, accuracy, and authenticity.
• Assess whether language is culturally and contextually appropriate.
• Record observations clearly and consistently.
• Provide written and verbal feedback on language and communication quality.
• Discuss findings and clarify guidelines with project coordinators when needed.
• Suggest linguistically informed improvements to evaluation frameworks.
• Deliver high-quality assessments within defined project timelines.

Requirements

This role requires native-level Indonesian proficiency and strong awareness of regional dialects and cultural nuances. You should be able to communicate clearly in both Indonesian and English, with English proficiency of at least B2 level.

A methodical, analytical approach is important because evaluations must be detailed, consistent, and actionable. Experience in translation, localization, linguistics, content moderation, or language quality assessment is helpful but not required.

• B2-level or stronger English communication skills.
• Ability to evaluate pronunciation, intonation, fluency, and naturalness in Indonesian speech.
• Sound judgment about the cultural and contextual appropriateness of language.

• Strong attention to detail and a methodical, analytical approach.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and meet project requirements punctually.
