About AI training and why it matters

AI training (data labeling / annotation / human feedback) is the human work behind modern AI systems. People prepare and evaluate examples—transcribing audio, rating responses, checking translations—that teach models how to write, translate, and behave.

This work is highly flexible, often remote and part-time, and gives contributors direct influence over how state-of-the-art AI systems perform in real languages and cultures.

The role

OpenTrain is hiring a Bengali language quality specialist to review AI-generated Bengali content, produce high-quality Bengali reference responses, and evaluate model outputs for fluency, accuracy, tone, register, and cultural fit.

This is remote contractor work for contributors located in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, or India. The project is estimated at about 1–3 months and runs roughly 20 hours per week.

What you'll do

• Review AI-generated Bengali text for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, and prompt adherence.
• Identify errors in meaning, mistranslation, incorrect register, ambiguity, and logical inconsistency.
• Fact-check claims when needed and produce clear, higher-quality rewrites or gold-standard Bengali answers.
• Create prompts and gold-standard Bengali responses across domains such as general knowledge, customer support, education, and conversational writing.
• Evaluate and rank multiple AI outputs for fluency, correctness, tone match, cultural fit, safety, and reliability.

Requirements and helpful background

Required: excellent Bengali writing and editing ability; strong grammar, spelling, and style control; experience evaluating translation quality, localization, copyediting, proofreading, or grammar/style checking; ability to judge tone and register across audiences; comfort spotting hallucinations and factual errors; English reading ability for mixed-language workflows.

• Strong Bengali fluency and demonstrated editing/proofreading skill.
• Experience evaluating translations, localization, or language quality review.
• Comfort writing clear Bengali rewrites and gold-standard answers.
• Helpful: prior AI training or model evaluation experience, familiarity with Bengali dialects and regional variation, or background in translation, writing, or linguistics.

Schedule, pay, data, and contract details

This is a remote contractor, part-time role. Expect approximately 20 hours per week for an estimated 1–3 month engagement.

Location: applicants must be based in Saudi Arabia (SA), United Arab Emirates (AE), Bangladesh (BD), or India (IN). Compensation: up to $15/hour (USD). Work focuses on text data and includes evaluation/ranking, text generation, and RLHF-style tasks.
