You will review short speech recordings and write structured observations that help train and evaluate AI voice and speech systems. The work requires careful listening, consistent voice terminology, and objective judgment.
- Describe vocal quality, resonance, phonation, pitch, intonation, breath support, rhythm, and tempo.
- Assess emotional tone, energy, articulation clarity, and delivery in scripted, spontaneous, and conversational samples.
- Describe perceived age, gender, accent, or dialect when you can do so confidently.
- Evaluate room sound, recording environments, and devices such as microphones, headsets, and phones.
- Write clear reports and maintain accuracy and confidentiality while collaborating asynchronously through digital platforms.
What it pays and takes
This is an entry-level contractor role, although professional experience in voice or audio work is preferred. You should be able to assess speech carefully and explain your observations in clear written English.
- $30 to $70 per hour.

- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
- Reliable internet access and high-quality headphones for accurate audio assessment.
- Strong knowledge of speech analysis, prosody, intonation, phonetics, accent and dialect variation, and vocal quality.
- Knowledge of resonance, voice placement, and breath control is valuable.
- Strong written and verbal communication and close attention to detail.
- Professional experience in voice acting, voice coaching, dialect coaching, vocal pedagogy, audio or sound engineering, recording quality, or acoustic environment assessment is preferred or helpful.
- Professional proficiency in another language is welcome when paired with the required English ability.
