You will analyze short speech recordings and create clear written reports for AI voice and speech training and evaluation. The work calls for consistent voice terminology, careful listening, confidentiality, and objective judgment while working asynchronously through digital platforms.
- Describe vocal characteristics such as vocal quality, resonance, phonation, pitch, intonation, breath support, rhythm, and tempo.
- Describe age, gender, accent, or dialect when you can assess them confidently.
- Evaluate emotional tone, energy, articulation clarity, and delivery in scripted, spontaneous, and conversational recordings.
- Assess room sound, recording environments, and device characteristics, including microphones, headsets, and phones.
- Produce accurate written observations that can support model training and evaluation.
What It Pays and Takes
This is a part-time contractor role with a weekly commitment of at least 20 hours. The work requires strong knowledge of speech analysis and related voice concepts, along with the equipment needed for accurate audio review.
- Pay: $30 to $70 per hour.
- Schedule: 20 or more hours per week.
- Language: English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
- Equipment: Reliable internet access and high-quality headphones.
- Required knowledge: Speech analysis, prosody, intonation, phonetics, accent and dialect variation, and vocal quality.
- Helpful knowledge: Resonance, voice placement, phonation, breath control, audio or sound engineering, recording quality, and acoustic environments.
- Helpful experience: Voice acting, voice coaching, dialect coaching, vocal pedagogy, or a related discipline.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication with careful attention to detail. Professional proficiency in another language is welcome when paired with the required English ability.
