The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Vietnamese Audio Evaluation Expert to support language and AI training through careful review of Vietnamese speech and model-generated audio. You will make consistent linguistic judgments about whether speech sounds native and fluent, then explain your reasoning in concise English feedback.

This is an entry-level opportunity for a remote contractor working on assigned Vietnamese audio review tasks. The expected workload is 20 or more hours per week, with pay ranging from $30 to $65 per hour.

What You'll Do

You will listen closely to Vietnamese audio and apply established evaluation guidelines. Your feedback should be accurate, consistent, and clear enough for project coordinators and other reviewers to understand.

• Listen to Vietnamese audio clips and evaluate the nativeness and fluency of the speaker or model output.
• Assess pronunciation, intonation, and linguistic authenticity using established evaluation guidelines.
• Write concise feedback in English that identifies important linguistic factors.
• Provide clear, detailed reasoning for each evaluation.
• Clarify ambiguous language content with project coordinators.
• Complete assigned audio reviews accurately and on time.

Required Skills

This role requires strong Vietnamese language judgment and the ability to communicate nuanced observations in English. You should be comfortable distinguishing subtle differences in speech and explaining those distinctions with concise, evidence-based reasoning.

• Native-level command of spoken and written Vietnamese
• B2-or-higher English proficiency for written and verbal communication
• Ability to distinguish nativeness, fluency, pronunciation, and intonation in Vietnamese speech
• Strong attention to detail when applying audio evaluation guidelines consistently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain nuanced linguistic judgments clearly and accurately

Helpful Background

Experience in audio analysis, transcription, linguistic assessment, voice specialization, linguistics, phonetics, music or audio engineering, media, communications, or teaching is valuable. Familiarity with evaluating speech or language content can help you provide precise, well-supported feedback.
