The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Vietnamese Audio Evaluation Expert to support language and AI training through careful review of Vietnamese speech and model-generated audio. You will determine whether speech sounds native and fluent while assessing pronunciation, intonation, and other aspects of linguistic authenticity.

This is a remote contractor opportunity focused on assigned Vietnamese audio review tasks. The expected schedule is 20+ hours per week, with pay ranging from $30 to $65 per hour.

What You'll Do

You will apply established evaluation guidelines and provide clear, consistent judgments about Vietnamese speech. Each review should include concise, understandable reasoning that identifies the linguistic factors behind your assessment.

• Listen to Vietnamese audio clips and evaluate the nativeness and fluency of the speaker or model output.
• Assess pronunciation, intonation, and linguistic authenticity using established evaluation guidelines.
• Write concise feedback in English that identifies important linguistic factors.
• Provide clear, detailed reasoning for each evaluation so results remain consistent and understandable.
• Clarify ambiguous language content with project coordinators.
• Complete assigned audio reviews accurately and on time.

Requirements

This role requires native-level Vietnamese proficiency and at least B2 English proficiency for written and verbal communication. You should be comfortable making careful judgments about subtle differences in fluency, pronunciation, intonation, and linguistic authenticity.

• Native-level command of spoken and written Vietnamese.
• B2-or-higher English ability for clear written and verbal feedback.
• Ability to distinguish nativeness, fluency, pronunciation, and intonation in Vietnamese speech.
• Strong attention to detail when applying audio evaluation guidelines consistently.
• Ability to explain nuanced linguistic judgments with concise, evidence-based reasoning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills focused on accuracy.

Helpful Background

Experience in audio analysis, transcription, linguistic assessment, voice specialization, linguistics, phonetics, music or audio engineering, media, communications, or teaching is valuable. Familiarity with evaluating speech or language content can help you provide precise, well-supported feedback.
