About AI training and evaluation work
AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is the human work behind better AI: people review model outputs, correct errors, rate quality, and provide detailed feedback so models learn useful, accurate behavior. This work is often 100% remote, flexible, and accessible to translators, linguists, and language experts.
The role
OpenTrain is hiring a Vietnamese translation and evaluation expert to review AI-generated Vietnamese responses and produce high-quality evaluations and explanations. You will assess reasoning quality, fact-check localized details, measure adherence to prompts, and produce consistent MQM/LQA-style error analyses.
What you'll do
Review and improve AI-generated Vietnamese language content for accuracy, fluency, and naturalness.
Evaluate reasoning quality, logical flow, and step-by-step problem solving in model outputs.
Check accuracy of localized facts (names, dates, references) and cultural nuances for Vietnam.
Rate and compare multiple AI responses using clear quality judgments and scoring rubrics.
Identify methodology or conceptual errors and write concise, high-quality explanations that show correct methods.
Apply MQM or LQA-style consistency when tagging error types and severities.
Requirements
Native or near-native Vietnamese proficiency with strong locale awareness for Vietnam.
Minimum C1 English reading and writing ability.
Experience in Vietnamese translation, localization, or linguistic QA.
Familiarity with CAT tools, QA workflows, terminology management, and style guides.
Strong editorial judgment for register, tone, inclusivity, and cultural nuance.
Ability to fact-check localized content carefully and consistently.
Prior AI data training, annotation, or evaluation experience is preferred.
Helpful background
Hands-on experience applying MQM or LQA concepts in review work.
Comfort working as an hourly contractor with dependable throughput and clear documentation.
Experience producing clear error analyses and severity justifications for reviewers or clients.
