The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Vietnamese AI translation and evaluation expert to assess AI-generated responses in Vietnamese and English. You will judge correctness, clarity, reasoning quality, prompt adherence, and localization quality while identifying conceptual, methodological, or cultural issues.

The role is based in Vietnam and is offered as remote, part-time contractor work. Compensation is up to $20 per hour for about 20 hours per week over approximately eight weeks.

What You'll Do

You will combine Vietnamese translation and localization judgment with structured AI evaluation. Reviews should be careful, consistent, and supported by clear explanations of the correct approach or identified issue.

• Review and improve AI-generated Vietnamese language content
• Evaluate reasoning quality, logical flow, and step-by-step problem solving
• Check accuracy, clarity, terminology, tone, and cultural nuance
• Fact-check names, dates, references, and other localized details
• Rate and compare multiple AI responses using quality judgment
• Identify methodology and conceptual errors
• Apply Vietnamese translation and localization expertise using MQM or LQA-style consistency
• Write high-quality explanations that show correct methods and support evaluation decisions

Requirements And Helpful Experience

This is an entry-level role, but it requires strong language judgment and careful editorial review. You should be able to produce natural, idiomatic Vietnamese and evaluate localized content consistently across different response types.

• Native or near-native Vietnamese proficiency with strong awareness of the Vietnam locale
• Minimum C1 English reading and writing ability
• Experience in Vietnamese translation, localization, or linguistic quality assurance
• Familiarity with CAT tools, QA workflows, terminology management, and style guides
• Strong editorial judgment for register, tone, inclusivity, and cultural nuance
• Ability to fact-check localized content, including names, dates, and references
• Vietnamese translation judgment with natural, idiomatic output
• MQM or LQA-style error analysis and severity thinking
• Clear evaluation of AI response quality, reasoning, and prompt adherence
• Prior AI data training, annotation, or evaluation experience is preferred
• Comfort working as an hourly contractor with dependable throughput and clear documentation
