About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Writers and reviewers prepare examples that help language models understand prompts, produce natural responses, and communicate more effectively.

In this growing field, your language expertise can directly influence how conversational AI behaves across platforms where Spanish communication is essential.

  • Contribute to the development of cutting-edge conversational AI
  • Use language, cultural awareness, and editing judgment to improve model behavior
  • Work remotely with flexible hours around your availability

The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a highly skilled Spanish Creative Writer for a remote contract role focused on LLM chatbot training. You will craft and refine dialogue, generate responses to prompts, and improve AI-generated text so conversations are accurate, engaging, authentic, and culturally relevant.

The work requires a deep understanding of Spanish dialects and cultural nuances prevalent in the United States. Your writing will support natural language understanding and help make AI interactions more realistic and relatable.

This is a part-time contractor position paying $25 per hour. The minimum commitment is 10 hours per week, with 20 or more hours preferred.

  • Role type: Part-time contractor
  • Location: United States only
  • Pay: $25 USD per hour
  • Workload: Minimum 10 hours per week; 20 or more preferred
  • Primary work: Spanish text generation, prompt responses, and editing

What You'll Do

You will create written examples and refine existing content used to train conversational AI systems. Strong work will balance creativity with precision, following prompts while preserving natural Spanish usage and relevant US cultural context.

  • Generate authentic and culturally relevant Spanish responses to prompts
  • Write dialogue and other text used in LLM chatbot training
  • Improve AI-generated responses for accuracy, engagement, and natural language
  • Apply a strong command of Spanish grammar and varied writing styles
  • Edit and proofread content meticulously
  • Support Spanish-language AI interactions across different platforms

Requirements

Applicants must be native Spanish speakers currently living in the United States who have lived there full-time for at least five years. Basic English is required for following instructions and communicating with the team.

More than five years of Spanish creative writing or content creation experience is preferred but not required. Prior experience writing responses to prompts for AI or data-labeling projects is highly preferred; experience rating or evaluating responses alone is less relevant to this role.

A portfolio of published Spanish writing, online or in print, is preferred but not required. Experience with AI chatbot tools such as ChatGPT is an advantage, not a requirement.

  • Native Spanish speaker from the United States
  • Currently living in the US and resident there full-time for 5 or more years
  • Strong written Spanish, grammar, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Basic English for instructions and team communication
  • Intermediate experience level
  • More than five years of Spanish writing or content creation experience preferred
  • Prior AI or data-labeling writing experience preferred
  • Published Spanish writing portfolio preferred but not required
  • AI chatbot tool experience is helpful but not essential

Interview And Writing Assessment

The interview will ask about your experience writing responses to prompts on AI or data-labeling projects, including the amount of experience you have. You may also be asked about your writing portfolio, highest level of education, and experience with AI chatbot tools.

At the end of the interview, you will complete a short assessment. Questions will be provided in English and Spanish, but your responses must be written in Spanish. The assessment is designed to evaluate precise comprehension, creative writing, professional communication, and persuasive writing.

  • Describe a unique, vivid character in Spanish using creative language and at least two distinctive traits.
  • Write a short Spanish email to your supervisor requesting feedback on your Quarterly Financial Report, focusing on data analysis and presentation style.
  • Write a concise Spanish email persuading an introverted friend to become a guest speaker at a local event, highlighting two benefits and addressing one possible concern.
