The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Scientific LaTeX Technical Writer to create reusable templates and realistic document assets for AI benchmarking environments. You will work with research materials, bibliographic references, and multi-author publications to produce internally consistent documents and explain why the results are correct.

This is a remote contractor assignment for five weeks. The engagement requires 40 hours per week, including at least four hours of PST overlap, and is suited to an experienced scientific or technical writer with advanced LaTeX skills.

What You'll Do

You will create document repositories and supporting assets that demonstrate humanly achievable, correct outcomes. The work combines technical writing, mathematical typesetting, bibliography management, document generation, and clear communication with engineering teams.

You will also explain correctness in typeset documents and citation graphs without writing scoring code, incorporate feedback, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an asynchronous remote setting.

• Map an application's supported inputs, important operations, and exports in a structured format.
• Build multi-file LaTeX document repositories with internally consistent content.
• Create BibTeX citation databases, custom .cls and .sty packages, and TikZ vector diagrams.
• Complete reference tasks that demonstrate humanly achievable and correct results.
• Document prompts, workflows, and asset metadata clearly for engineering teams.
• Explain correctness in typeset documents and citation graphs without writing scoring code.

Required Qualifications
