The Role

We are looking for a Creative Writer fluent in Cantonese to produce high-quality, culturally authentic dialogue and responses for AI chatbot training. This is a remote, contract position suitable for part-time work.

You will generate original Cantonese text, improve and edit AI-generated outputs, and ensure language is natural, varied, and appropriate for the intended audience and context.

• Pay: USD $19.00 per hour
• Minimum time commitment: 10 hours/week; preferred 20+ hours/week (schedule flexible)

What You'll Do

Daily work centers on writing and polishing Cantonese prompts and responses used to train conversational models. Tasks are text-based and focused on clarity, naturalness, and cultural relevance.

• Write original Cantonese responses to given prompts (prompt-response writing / SFT).
• Draft and edit question-answer pairs and short conversational turns (text generation).
• Improve and post-edit AI-generated Cantonese text for accuracy, tone, and fluency.
• Follow style and quality guidelines to maintain consistent voice and register.

Requirements

Candidates must be strong Cantonese writers with the ability to capture regional variations and cultural context. This role emphasizes writing experience over evaluation-only tasks.

• Proven writing experience in Cantonese; 5+ years of creative or content writing is preferred but not required.
• Prior experience performing writing tasks on AI-training or data-labeling platforms is highly preferred (writing-specific work, not only rating).
• Strong editing and proofreading skills; ability to follow instructions and style guides.
• Basic understanding of English to read instructions and communicate with the team.
• Familiarity with AI chatbot tools (e.g., ChatGPT) is an advantage but not required.

Interview & Short Writing Test

The interview includes a short written test administered in English and Cantonese; you must respond in Cantonese. Performance on this test is an important factor in hiring decisions.

How Work Is Assigned & Tools

Tasks are delivered as written prompts requiring Cantonese responses or edits. You will follow provided guidelines and submit work through OpenTrain AI’s contractor workflow. No specialized labeling tools are required beyond standard text entry and editorial review.
