The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking a Slovak Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality across Slovak AI training projects. In this part-time contractor role, you will review AI-generated Slovak content and trainer QA work against project guidelines, provide precise written feedback, and help maintain consistent standards across distributed teams.

The role focuses on Slovak-language quality leadership, including accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, meaning preservation, instruction-following, formatting, and rubric adherence. This opportunity requires 20 or more hours per week and pays up to $25 per hour.

What You'll Do

You will combine detailed Slovak-language review with trainer coordination and process improvement. Your feedback will help contributors understand project expectations and produce more consistent, high-quality work.

• Spot-check Slovak items and trainer QA submissions for quality issues.
• Provide clear written feedback and escalate recurring or critical problems.
• Communicate project updates, guidelines, and workflow changes to trainers and QAs.
• Answer questions about Slovak wording, grammar, case endings, diacritics, register, translation fidelity, and cultural context.
• Identify mistranslations, awkward phrasing, missing diacritics, terminology inconsistencies, and differences between Slovak and Czech usage.
• Create and maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
• Run onboarding and training calls covering project expectations, rubrics, and Slovak-specific style requirements.
• Help activate contributors who are not working consistently.
• Build scalable QA processes and improve consistency across Slovak-language projects.

Required Skills

This role is suited to a native or near-native Slovak speaker who can assess language quality in detail and communicate feedback clearly in English. Experience with Slovak writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, or annotation is required.

• Native or near-native Slovak reading and writing ability.
• Strong English communication for guidelines, feedback, and team coordination.
• Deep knowledge of Slovak grammar, spelling conventions, declension, case endings, gender agreement, tone, register, and cultural context.
• Ability to distinguish Slovak from Czech usage.
• Ability to provide structured quality feedback and maintain style guides.
• Comfort working with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management tools.
• Experience leading or supporting trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is strongly preferred.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Slovak, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• Experience with large language models, prompt or response evaluation, and rubric-based QA.
• Familiarity with style guides, documentation workflows, and quality operations.
