OpenTrain is the #1 platform for building careers in AI training and data labeling. We connect and contract language experts, reviewers, and annotators to work that shapes how modern AI systems behave, and we help contributors track projects and grow a durable freelance career.
About AI training and why it matters
AI training (also called data labeling or annotation) is the human work behind better models: people review, rate, and correct AI outputs so systems learn useful, safe, and fluent behavior. These roles are often 100% remote, flexible, accessible without prior AI experience, and let contributors directly influence how state-of-the-art language models work.
The role
We are hiring a Slovak Quality Assurance Lead to oversee language quality across Slovak AI training workflows. You will review AI-generated Slovak text and trainer QA work, provide clear written feedback, maintain documentation and style guidance, and support onboarding and quality operations for distributed teams.
Work type: contractor, part-time, remote (based in Slovakia)
Time: 20+ hours per week
Pay: up to $25/hour
Data: text-focused tasks including evaluation/ratings and summarization
What you'll do
This role centers on language quality leadership: you will monitor outputs, enforce rubrics, and help trainers and reviewers improve consistency and accuracy in Slovak content.
Spot-check Slovak items and trainer QA submissions for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, and guideline adherence.
Provide precise, constructive written feedback and escalate recurring or critical issues.
Answer questions about Slovak wording, diacritics, case endings, register, translation fidelity, and cultural context.
Create and maintain style guides, examples, honeypots, FAQs, trackers, and onboarding materials.
Run onboarding and training calls to explain rubrics, expectations, and Slovak-specific style requirements.
Communicate project updates, guideline changes, and workflow improvements to trainers and QAs.
Help activate or re-engage contributors who are not working consistently and contribute to scalable QA processes.
Requirements
You must be able to lead Slovak language quality efforts and communicate effectively with remote teams.
Native or near-native Slovak reading and writing skills.
Strong English communication for guidelines, written feedback, and team coordination.
Deep knowledge of Slovak grammar, spelling conventions, declension, case endings, gender agreement, tone, and register.
Ability to distinguish Slovak from Czech usage and catch mistranslations, missing diacritics, awkward phrasing, and terminology inconsistencies.
Experience with Slovak writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, or annotation.
Comfort using remote collaboration tools such as Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management tools.
Experience leading or supporting trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is strongly preferred.
Helpful background
The following qualifications are useful but not required; they help with faster onboarding and deeper QA work.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Slovak, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, QA, or a related field.
Experience with large language models, prompt/response evaluation, or rubric-based QA.
Familiarity with style guides, documentation workflows, and quality operations.
Work environment, schedule and pay
This is an hourly remote contractor role focused on Slovak-language AI training quality. You will be contracted by OpenTrain AI and work with distributed teams to maintain documentation and reviewer coordination.
Location: must be based in Slovakia (SK).
Languages required: Slovak (sk) and English (en).
Hours: 20+ hours/week, part-time contractor schedule with flexible timing.
Rate: up to $25 per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR, USD).
Tasks focus on TEXT data and include evaluation/ratings and text summarization labeling types.
How it works / next steps
