The Role
OpenTrain is seeking a Nepali AI Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality and consistency across Nepali AI training projects. You will review AI-generated content as well as trainer and QA work, ensuring that evaluations are accurate, fluent, culturally appropriate, well documented, and aligned with project rubrics.
This is a part-time contractor role available to candidates in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, and Nepal. The expected commitment is 20 or more hours per week at $20 per hour.

What You’ll Do
You will spot-check Nepali items and assess language, meaning, formatting, and instruction adherence. You will also support the systems and people needed to deliver consistent quality across remote review workflows.
- Evaluate accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, and cultural appropriateness
- Check meaning preservation, formatting, instruction following, and terminology consistency
- Review trainer and QA work against detailed project rubrics
- Provide precise written feedback and explain quality judgments
- Communicate guideline updates and answer Nepali language questions
- Escalate recurring or critical quality issues
- Create and maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, calibration materials, and quality notes
- Develop onboarding resources and support training for reviewers
- Promote consistent application of Nepali language guidelines
- Identify workflow improvements for scalable remote QA processes
Requirements
You should have native or near-native Nepali reading and writing skills, strong English communication ability, and a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent language and quality experience. At least three years of experience in Nepali writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, education, annotation, or related review work is required.
- Native or near-native Nepali proficiency
- Strong written command of Devanagari, Nepali grammar, spelling, punctuation, honorifics, register, and cultural context
- Ability to identify mistranslation, literal phrasing, unnatural tone, terminology inconsistency, and instruction-following issues
- Strong English communication skills for precise remediation feedback
- Experience evaluating language or model outputs against detailed rubrics
- Ability to design and maintain Nepali style guides, calibration materials, FAQs, trackers, and quality documentation
- At least three years of relevant writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, education, annotation, or review experience
- Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent language and quality experience
Preferred Experience
Experience in AI training, LLM evaluation, translation QA, or localization QA is valuable. Familiarity with supporting remote review teams and maintaining shared work documentation will also help you succeed.
- Experience with rubric-based language review
- Experience evaluating AI or large language model outputs
- Translation QA or localization QA experience
- Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs
- Comfort using shared documents, spreadsheets, trackers, or dashboards
