The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Latvian Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across Latvian AI training projects. You will review AI-generated Latvian content as well as trainer and QA submissions, assess work against project standards, and provide precise written feedback.

The role also includes identifying recurring issues, communicating updates to trainers and QAs, maintaining project documentation, supporting contributor onboarding, and helping activate contributors who are not working consistently. This is an intermediate-level, remote contractor role for applicants in Latvia, with a commitment of 20 or more hours per week.

What You'll Do

You will combine detailed Latvian language review with practical quality leadership. Your feedback should help contributors understand expectations, correct recurring problems, and produce more consistent work across projects.

• Review Latvian AI training content and trainer or QA submissions
• Evaluate accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, register, and cultural appropriateness
• Check meaning preservation, instruction-following, formatting, and rubric adherence
• Identify mistranslations, awkward phrasing, missing diacritics, inconsistent terminology, and related issues
• Provide precise written feedback and escalate recurring or critical quality concerns
• Communicate workflow updates, quality expectations, and Latvian language guidance
• Maintain style guides, FAQs, trackers, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials
• Support onboarding and training calls for contributors
• Help improve Latvian QA workflows and contributor alignment over time
• Help activate contributors who are not working consistently

Requirements

You should have native or near-native Latvian proficiency and strong English communication skills. The work requires close attention to language detail and the ability to explain quality decisions clearly in written feedback and project guidance.

• Native or near-native Latvian proficiency
• Strong Latvian reading and writing skills
• Strong English communication skills for guidelines and feedback
• Experience in Latvian writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, or annotation
• Strong understanding of Latvian grammar, spelling, punctuation, declension, case endings, gender agreement, tone, register, and cultural context
• Ability to assess language quality against detailed rubrics and project guidelines

Preferred Experience and Tools

Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, reviewers, editors, or QAs is preferred. Familiarity with common remote workflow and documentation tools can also support success in this role.

• Familiarity with translation, localization, content QA, AI training, or rubric-based feedback

• Familiarity with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, or similar tools
