OpenTrain is the #1 platform for finding and building careers in AI training and data labeling. Create a free profile to discover projects, build experience, and grow a career teaching AI systems how to read, speak, and localize language.
We connect language professionals with real AI development work — from translation and localization to evaluation and RLHF — so skilled contributors can earn, learn, and help shape how modern AI behaves.
About AI Training Work
AI training (data labeling, annotation, and human evaluation) is the human side of building intelligent systems: people review, correct, and rate model outputs so models learn to produce better language, translations, and behavior.
This work is remote, flexible, and well-suited to language experts who want part-time, high-impact projects that require careful judgement, linguistic expertise, and familiarity with QA workflows.
The Role
We are hiring an experienced Korean–English localization and translation expert to review and improve AI-generated text for the South Korea locale. You will evaluate accuracy, clarity, reasoning, and adherence to prompts and style guidance, then produce corrected outputs and explain decisions.
This is a part-time contractor position (less than 20 hours/week). Work is remote but candidates must be currently based in South Korea. Compensation is $27 USD per hour; labeling work focuses on text and structured evaluation (EVALUATION_RATING, RLHF, TRANSLATION_LOCALIZATION).
- Employment: Contractor, Part-time
- Hours: Less than 20 hours/week (flexible)
- Pay: $27 USD per hour
- Location: Must be currently based in South Korea
- Data type: Text — evaluation, translation, and RLHF-style tasks
What You'll Do
Deliver high-quality linguistic judgments and corrected outputs for AI training tasks, using formal QA frameworks and structured rating criteria.
- Evaluate AI responses for accuracy, clarity, cultural appropriateness, and adherence to prompts and style guidelines
- Classify and document errors using MQM/LQA typologies and make consistent severity/category decisions
- Write corrected outputs, explanations, and model answers that are defensible and follow style/terminology standards
- Rate and rank multiple AI-generated responses against structured evaluation rubrics
- Fact-check localized content (units, names, dates, references) using reliable sources and sound reasoning
- Use CAT tools, translation memories, termbases, and automated QA checks as part of the workflow
Requirements
- Currently based in South Korea (location requirement)
- Native or near-native Korean proficiency with professional writing/editing skills for the South Korea locale
- English proficiency at C1+ (reading and writing) to interpret prompts, sources, and guidelines
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Translation, Linguistics, Localization, Communications, or related field
- 5+ years of professional localization/translation experience (multilingual localization preferred)
- Demonstrated experience applying MQM/LQA (consistent error classification and severity decisions)
- Proficiency with CAT tools and QA workflows (TM/termbases, automated checks)
- Strong terminology management, copyediting ability, and sensitivity to tone/register/inclusivity
- Ability to rigorously fact-check localized content using reliable sources
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience with AI data training, annotation, or evaluation projects is preferred
- Experience working with structured evaluation rubrics, RLHF tasks, or response ranking
- Familiarity with translation/localization tooling and production QA in a localization pipeline
