The Japanese Language Expert Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking experienced Japanese Language Experts for a project focused on audio transcription and AI training. You will use native-level Japanese fluency, English proficiency, and careful language judgment to create and validate high-quality training data.
The role is suitable for an intermediate-level contributor with experience in transcription, language quality review, annotation, localization, proofreading, or related language work. Previous AI training experience is helpful but not required.

What You'll Do
You will process Japanese audio and text while following detailed project guidelines. Your work may include transcription, review, annotation, text generation, and evaluation tasks designed to improve AI language performance.
You will collaborate with project managers and other language experts to maintain consistency across deliverables and submit accurate work through specialized transcription and annotation tools.
- Transcribe Japanese audio accurately and capture content, context, speaker nuances, and fine linguistic details
- Review, edit, and validate transcripts for completeness, clarity, and guideline compliance
- Correct errors, inconsistencies, and ambiguities in machine-generated or human-created transcriptions
- Annotate audio files or transcripts with metadata, context notes, and speaker tags when required
- Apply Japanese linguistic, dialectal, and cultural insights to improve AI understanding
- Complete audio labeling, text generation, and language quality evaluation tasks
- Use audio playback, transcription, and annotation tools to process and submit work
Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
This role requires strong Japanese language expertise and the ability to work comfortably in both Japanese and English. You should be able to follow detailed English instructions and handle occasional English-language content.
Professional experience in transcription, linguistic review, localization, proofreading, audio labeling, or related language work is preferred. Previous participation in AI training data, data annotation, or language technology projects is a plus, but it is not required.
