The Role

OpenTrain is seeking an Italian Audio Transcription Expert to support AI training projects. You will transcribe Italian audio recordings with high accuracy and may occasionally transcribe English audio when required.

Prior AI training experience is not required. This role focuses on your professional transcription experience, language fluency, ability to recognize linguistic subtleties, and careful adherence to project guidelines.

• Pay: $20-$36 per hour
• Schedule: Minimum of 10 hours per week
• Workload: Less than 20 hours per week
• Engagement: Part-time contractor

What You'll Do

• Transcribe Italian audio samples accurately and transcribe English audio when required.
• Review and edit transcripts for completeness, consistency, and faithful representation of spoken content.
• Annotate audio data according to project specifications to support AI model training.
• Flag unclear or low-quality audio and provide feedback about transcription challenges.
• Work with project coordinators to clarify requirements and resolve linguistic nuances.
• Maintain confidentiality and data security throughout every assignment.
• Deliver timely, high-quality transcripts that meet project milestones.

Requirements

• Native-level fluency in spoken and written Italian.
• Fluency in English.
• Demonstrated professional audio transcription experience, especially on linguistic or AI-related projects.
• Exceptional attention to detail and transcription accuracy.
• Strong familiarity with audio transcription tools and best practices.
• Ability to identify, interpret, and annotate linguistic subtleties and audio ambiguities.
• Proactive communication skills and an independent work ethic.
