The Role

OpenTrain is hiring a Hindi Audio Transcription and Alignment Auditor to review existing Hindi AI training data rather than produce new data. You will compare speech recordings with transcriptions, apply defined error codes, make pass or fail judgments, and provide clear written rationales.

You will also verify word-level audio alignment by checking timestamps and reference text. When automated alignment is inaccurate, you will correct segment boundaries or restructure the segments as needed. The work is careful, rubric-driven language data quality auditing.

• Contractor position
• Part-time schedule of less than 20 hours per week
• Pay: $18 USD per hour

What You’ll Do

Your work will combine focused listening, transcription review, alignment checking, and consistent application of written standards. You will be expected to make each audit decision understandable to the team reviewing the data.

• Compare human or agent speech recordings with existing transcriptions
• Apply all relevant transcription error codes
• Explain audit decisions and provide written rationales
• Review word-level segment boundaries against the actual spoken audio
• Verify that reference transcriptions match the spoken form
• Correct, split, merge, add, or remove alignment segments when needed
• Identify critical errors and clearly explain failed judgments
• Complete a short calibration phase before beginning production audits

Requirements and Helpful Experience

Native or near-native Hindi as spoken in India is required, along with strong English reading and writing skills for understanding conventions, error codes, and audit rationales. You should be comfortable listening closely to continuous speech and making consistent decisions under a written rubric.

Previous experience in transcription, subtitling, localization, linguistic annotation, or quality assurance is valuable. Experience with AI data annotation, model evaluation, phonetics, linguistics, audio editing, or waveform tools may also help you succeed.
