The Role

OpenTrain AI is recruiting a French Linguistic AI Evaluator to assess how effectively large language models perform French-language tasks and to curate high-quality linguistic data for model improvement. You will review generated French text, refine language to meet linguistic and cultural standards, annotate linguistic features, and provide analysis that supports better model performance.

This opportunity is listed at the entry level and is structured as part-time contractor work. The expected commitment is 20 or more hours per week, with compensation of $50 USD per hour.

What You'll Do

You will evaluate the quality and accuracy of generated French text across multiple language tasks. Your feedback and edits will help identify weaknesses in model outputs and improve the quality of future AI-generated content.

• Evaluate French outputs for translation, summarization, dialogue, and grammar correction
• Edit, refine, or rewrite content so it is accurate, natural, and culturally appropriate
• Annotate French text for grammatical, syntactic, and semantic features
• Identify model errors, language gaps, subtle mistakes, and unnatural phrasing
• Provide detailed linguistic feedback to guide AI training efforts
• Explain linguistic decisions clearly and consistently

Requirements

This role requires native or near-native French fluency and an excellent command of grammar, syntax, and stylistic judgment. Professional experience in French translation, editing, linguistic annotation, or NLP data work is required.

You should be comfortable recognizing linguistic nuance, regional variation, and context-appropriate usage. Clear written communication, exceptional attention to detail, and experience working with distributed remote teams are also important.
