The Role

OpenTrain is hiring an intermediate Catalan Language Review Specialist for remote contractor work. You will review Catalan prompts and AI-generated responses, assess their language and reasoning quality, and create polished reference answers that demonstrate best-practice Catalan usage.

The work covers general knowledge, customer support, education, translation, localization, and culturally sensitive topics. You will also identify language, factual, logical, safety, and cultural issues and explain how model responses can be improved.

• Remote contractor position
• Part-time engagement requiring 20+ hours per week
• Hiring in France and Spain
• $25 USD per hour
• Languages: Catalan and English

What You’ll Do

• Review Catalan prompts and AI-generated outputs for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, and prompt adherence
• Evaluate reasoning quality and rank model responses using defined criteria
• Create high-quality Catalan reference content across general knowledge, customer support, education, translation, localization, and sensitive topics
• Detect hallucinations, bias, ambiguity, unsafe claims, factual errors, logical inconsistencies, and unnatural phrasing
• Identify mistranslations, false friends, awkward literal phrasing, Castilian interference, register issues, and regional variation concerns
• Write precise feedback explaining how AI responses should be improved
• Produce rewrites and example answers that reflect strong Catalan writing and editing standards

Requirements

• Native or near-native Catalan proficiency with excellent reading, writing, and editing ability
• Strong command of Catalan grammar, spelling, punctuation, pronouns, verb forms, tone, idioms, and style
• Comfort handling standard Catalan, Valencian, and Balearic usage
• Ability to distinguish formal and informal registers and recognize regional variation
• Professional English proficiency at a minimum C1 level for detailed written feedback
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field
• Experience with AI data training, translation QA, editorial QA, localization QA, or rubric-based evaluation is strongly preferred
• Experience writing feedback on AI outputs or performing localization QA
