The role

OpenTrain is hiring Arabic (Saudi) voice specialists to record and transcribe spoken Arabic for language-data projects. This is part-time contractor work (entry-level) with less than 20 hours/week expected and flexible scheduling.

You will produce audio recordings in native Saudi Arabic, create accurate written transcriptions, and follow project guidelines to ensure recordings reflect authentic dialect, clear pronunciation, and culturally appropriate language use.

• Data type: Audio (AUDIO_RECORDING and TRANSCRIPTION tasks).
• Employment: Contractor, Part-time (less than 20 hours/week).
• Languages: Native Saudi Arabic required; strong written/verbal English helpful.
• Pay range: $30–$65 per hour (projects may pay up to $65/hr).

What you'll do

Day-to-day tasks are straightforward and focused on producing high-quality voice data and transcripts. You will follow clear task instructions and deliver consistent, accurate work.

• Record short phrases, sentences, or prompts in native Saudi Arabic using a smartphone or external microphone.
• Transcribe your recordings accurately into written Arabic with attention to dialectal forms and correct orthography.
• Ensure recordings meet audio quality guidelines: clear speech, minimal background noise, and correct pacing.
• Deliver completed tasks on schedule and communicate professionally with reviewers and project coordinators.

Requirements

You must be a native or near-native Saudi Arabic speaker with strong familiarity with local dialect and cultural nuance. This role emphasizes linguistic accuracy, reliability, and the ability to work independently.

• Native proficiency in Saudi Arabic and awareness of regional dialectal features.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic; good English skills for written collaboration.
• Ability to record clear spoken audio using your own smartphone or microphone and upload files as instructed.
• Proven ability to transcribe spoken Arabic accurately and consistently.
• Attention to detail, punctual task delivery, and comfort working independently in a remote, part-time workflow.
• Experience in language teaching, linguistics, translation, or language technology is helpful but not required.

How it works & compensation
