The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an Urdu Language AI Training Expert to evaluate and improve AI-generated Urdu content. In this hourly, remote contractor position, you will create reference content, write prompt responses, and rank model outputs to improve the accuracy and naturalness of Urdu in AI systems.

The work covers general knowledge, customer support, education, conversational writing, translation, and localization. You will assess language quality, cultural appropriateness, logical consistency, and safety while providing clear written feedback in English.

What You'll Do

You will contribute directly to the creation and evaluation of Urdu-language training data. Your reviews will help improve model fluency, correctness, consistency, safety, and cultural awareness across different writing contexts.

• Create prompts and gold-standard Urdu answers across multiple domains
• Evaluate and rank AI outputs for fluency, correctness, tone, and register consistency
• Review right-to-left script formatting and Urdu language conventions
• Identify unsafe or misleading content, factual hallucinations, bias, and mistranslations
• Flag culturally inappropriate phrasing and explain how it should be corrected
• Write precise feedback in English describing language errors and recommended improvements

Required Qualifications

This role requires advanced Urdu language judgment and professional English communication. The position is marked entry level, but the requirements include at least three years of relevant professional experience or equivalent experience in language-focused work.

• Native or near-native Urdu proficiency with strong reading and writing skills
• Professional English proficiency at a minimum C1 level
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Linguistics, Urdu Literature, English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• At least 3 years of experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or related language work
• Deep knowledge of Urdu grammar, spelling, punctuation, Nastaliq and script conventions, right-to-left formatting, tone, and style
• Ability to work with formal or literary Urdu, conversational Urdu, Pakistan Urdu, India Urdu, and Urdu-English code-switching
• Strong attention to subtle meaning shifts, incorrect gender or verb agreement, hallucinated claims, and culturally mismatched phrasing

Helpful Experience

Experience with structured AI evaluation or language quality workflows can help you succeed, although it is listed as helpful rather than required.
