The Traditional Chinese Taiwan QA Lead Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Traditional Chinese Taiwan QA Lead to review AI-generated Traditional Chinese content and trainer QA work for Taiwan-focused AI training projects. You will evaluate work against project rubrics, provide clear written feedback, monitor quality consistency, support onboarding and documentation, and help contributors stay aligned with evolving guidelines.

This is a part-time contractor role requiring 20 or more hours per week. Compensation is $45 USD per hour.

What You’ll Do

You will combine advanced Taiwan Mandarin judgment with practical QA leadership. The work includes detailed language review, contributor support, quality tracking, and communication across remote teams.

  • Review Traditional Chinese Taiwan and Mandarin content for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, cultural appropriateness, meaning preservation, formatting, and rubric adherence
  • Identify recurring quality issues and communicate updates to trainers and QAs
  • Answer questions about Taiwan Mandarin wording, Traditional Chinese conventions, translation fidelity, localization terminology, and edge cases
  • Maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials
  • Run onboarding and training calls covering expectations, workflows, rubrics, and Taiwan-specific style requirements
  • Help activate inactive contributors and support scalable QA workflows across remote teams

Required Qualifications

You should have native or near-native Traditional Chinese proficiency for Taiwan, strong English communication skills, and substantial experience reviewing or producing language content. The role requires careful judgment across grammar, tone, localization, cultural context, and rubric-based quality standards.

  • Native or near-native Traditional Chinese proficiency for Taiwan with strong reading and writing skills
  • Strong understanding of Taiwan Mandarin usage, terminology, tone, register, punctuation, formatting conventions, and cultural context
  • Strong English communication skills for guidelines, collaboration, and structured feedback
  • At least 3 years of experience in Traditional Chinese writing, Mandarin editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, annotation, or related language-review work
  • Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs
  • Experience reviewing localization or translation quality for Taiwan audiences
  • Comfort working with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, and project management tools

Helpful Background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Mandarin, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a related field
  • Experience with AI training, large language models, prompt or response evaluation, or rubric-based LLM QA
  • Familiarity with Taiwan-specific vocabulary, product or UI localization norms, and simplified Chinese leakage detection
