OpenTrain is the #1 platform for building careers in AI training and data labeling. We hire and contract people who teach AI systems how to understand and speak the world’s languages—work that’s central to every major AI product.
This role is offered directly by OpenTrain; contributors join a fast-growing industry where work is remote, flexible, and accessible to people with language skills and attention to detail.
About AI Training Work
AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback work) is the human side of building intelligent systems: people record prompts, review model outputs, and give the structured feedback models need to improve.
These projects are often part-time and remote, let you choose hours, and require only the domain knowledge specified by each project—here, knowledge of Irish English pronunciation and accent variation.
Remote, contractor roles with flexible schedules
Contributions directly shape how models speak and understand language
Accessible entry — prior linguistics study is a plus but not required
The Role
You will evaluate AI-generated audio in Irish English: provide audio prompts, listen to the model's spoken responses, and rate accent, fluency, and pronunciation. Your feedback will help fine-tune the model’s naturalness and intelligibility.
You will also act as an AI interviewer in some tasks: conducting structured assessments of a candidate’s linguistic expertise and their ability to evaluate AI speech, using a professional yet conversational tone.
What You’ll Do
Record and/or provide audio prompts in Irish English and listen to AI-generated responses
Rate spoken output for accent accuracy, pronunciation, fluency, and naturalness (evaluation ratings)
Identify specific errors or unnatural patterns and write clear, structured feedback with examples
Perform iterative evaluations—suggest targeted improvements across multiple attempts until quality targets are met
Conduct interviewer-style assessments when requested: ask scripted questions, evaluate candidate responses, and document findings professionally
Requirements
This position requires that you are based in Ireland and have used Irish English in daily communication for at least two years (personal or professional).
Minimum: 2+ years using Irish English daily and residency in Ireland (required)
Strong attention to detail and ability to provide structured, actionable feedback
Comfortable speaking and recording clear audio in Irish English
Professional, conversational interviewing tone when assessing candidates
Reliable internet, a microphone or headset, and a device for recording or playing audio
Compensation & Schedule
This is a part-time contractor role (less than 20 hours/week) paid hourly at USD 20. Work is remote but must be performed while based in Ireland.
Pay type: Hourly contractor — USD 20/hour
Time commitment: Less than 20 hours per week
Employment types: Contractor, Part-time
Who Should Apply
Apply if you are a clear speaker of Irish English, enjoy close listening and linguistic analysis, and can explain pronunciation issues in plain, structured terms. Formal linguistics or phonetics background is helpful but not required.
Teachers, language tutors, transcribers, voice actors, and native or fluent speakers living in Ireland
People who can deliver constructive feedback and guide iterative improvements to spoken output
How It Works
Selected candidates will complete short onboarding and sample tasks to confirm understanding. Work consists of short audio evaluation sessions and interviewer-style assessments, with clear instruction and examples provided for each task.
You will submit ratings and written feedback through OpenTrain’s contractor workflow and are paid for time spent on assigned tasks.
Tasks: evaluate AI audio, write feedback, sometimes role-play interviewer assessments
Payments and assignments are managed by OpenTrain as the contracting organization
How To Apply
If you meet the residency and language requirements and are interested, apply through your OpenTrain account. Be ready to demonstrate your Irish English proficiency with short sample recordings during onboarding.
