Why AI training and speech evaluation matters
AI models learn to speak naturally only when humans review, rate, and correct their outputs. Speech and accent evaluation helps models sound intelligible and culturally appropriate in specific dialects. This is meaningful, accessible work that you can do part time while directly influencing how AI communicates in Arabic.
Work that shapes state-of-the-art voice and speech systems
Flexible, part-time contractor work that fits around other commitments
Many projects require no formal qualifications—language familiarity and clear feedback matter most
The role
You will evaluate AI-generated spoken Arabic in Southern Levantine (Jordanian) dialects: listening to model responses, rating accent and fluency, identifying pronunciation or intonation issues, and providing clear, structured feedback. This is a part-time contractor role with flexible hours, intended for people currently living in Jordan who know local pronunciation and accent variations.
Your core tasks involve interacting with an AI model in Southern Levantine Arabic by providing audio prompts and assessing the model’s spoken replies. You’ll rate accent, fluency, and pronunciation against project guidelines, note unnatural phrasing or errors, and offer actionable corrections to help the model improve.
Listen to AI-generated audio samples and assign evaluation ratings
Identify pronunciation, intonation, or fluency issues and document them clearly
Suggest concrete improvements or alternate pronunciations where appropriate
Support iterative workflows: evaluate revisions until the model reaches target quality
Assessment style and interview expectations
The role requires a professional yet conversational evaluation style. During onboarding or assessments you may be asked to act as an interviewer who gauges a candidate’s linguistic expertise and ability to evaluate AI audio. You should be able to structure questions, keep the conversation engaging, and record objective, reproducible ratings.
Explain the assessment process and encourage detailed responses
Ask about experience using the dialect and about phonetic/accent-specific features
Describe how you would iterate on AI responses to reach a perfect rating
Requirements
We will only consider applicants who meet the role’s substantive requirements. Please read these carefully and apply only if you meet them.
