The role

As the Spanish Quality Assurance Lead you will own Spanish-language quality, consistency, and trainer performance across OpenTrain AI Spanish projects.

You will evaluate AI-generated Spanish text and trainer/QA submissions against project rubrics, document recurring issues, maintain Spanish guidance materials, and support onboarding and contributor activation.

• Work type: Contractor, part-time (20+ hours/week).
• Pay: Hourly, USD $30–$40/hr.
• Location: Applicants based in Mexico (MX) or Spain (ES) preferred; role is not worldwide.
• Data: Text evaluation tasks; label type: evaluation/rating.

What you'll do day-to-day

Your core work is review and feedback: evaluate Spanish model outputs and human submissions, write clear corrective notes, and escalate critical or recurring problems.

You will also create and maintain quality resources, support onboarding and training calls, communicate updates to contributors, and help improve QA workflows.

• Review Spanish AI-generated content and trainer/QA work for accuracy, fluency, grammar, tone, register, and rubric adherence.
• Provide concise written feedback that trainers and contributors can act on.
• Maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, honeypots, examples, and onboarding materials.
• Support onboarding, training calls, and contributor re-activation follow-up.
• Identify process gaps and propose practical improvements to Spanish QA workflows.

Requirements

You must be able to evaluate Spanish content at a very high level and communicate quality expectations in English as needed for cross-project guidelines.

• Native or near-native Spanish proficiency with strong reading and writing ability.
• Strong English communication skills for reading guidelines and writing feedback.
• Background in Spanish writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, or similar language-review workflows.
• Deep understanding of Spanish grammar, spelling, punctuation, accents, tone, register, and cultural context.
• Ability to apply detailed rubrics and spot mistranslation, awkward phrasing, incorrect register, missing accents, hallucinated claims, ambiguity, and terminology issues.
• Comfort working with Latin American Spanish, European Spanish, or both and adapting to audience differences.

Nice-to-have experience

These are not required but will help you ramp faster and be effective shaping workflows and onboarding.

• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs.
• Familiarity with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, or rubric-based QA.
• Experience with Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, trackers, dashboards, or project management tools.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Spanish, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, Education, QA, or a related field.

How the work is organized

This is a contractor role managed by OpenTrain AI. You’ll work on evaluation/rating tasks for text data and participate in periodic onboarding and quality syncs.

Expect to spend 20+ hours per week on reviews, documentation, and contributor support; schedules are flexible within project needs.
