About This Spanish AI Quality Assurance Role

OpenTrain is seeking an intermediate Spanish Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across Spanish AI training projects. You will review AI-generated Spanish content along with trainer and QA submissions, assess work against detailed project guidelines, and provide precise written feedback that helps contributors meet expected standards.

This contractor, part-time role requires 20+ hours per week. The pay range is $30-$40 per hour, and the role is available to candidates in Mexico, Spain, and the United States.

What You’ll Do

You will combine Spanish-language expertise with structured quality review. Your work will help maintain consistent standards across contributors while identifying recurring problems, communicating expectations, and improving the workflows used to train and evaluate AI systems.

  • Review Spanish AI-generated content and trainer and QA submissions for quality and consistency
  • Evaluate accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, meaning preservation, instruction-following, formatting, and rubric adherence
  • Provide clear written feedback and escalate recurring or critical issues
  • Communicate project updates, quality expectations, and workflow changes to trainers and QAs
  • Answer questions about Spanish wording, grammar, tone, register, translation fidelity, terminology, and localization differences
  • Identify mistranslation, awkward phrasing, incorrect register, missing accents, hallucinated claims, ambiguity, and terminology issues
  • Support onboarding and training calls for trainers and QAs
  • Track inactive contributors and support activation follow-up

Documentation And Workflow Improvement

The role includes maintaining the resources that keep Spanish-language projects aligned as requirements evolve. You will help document quality expectations, clarify recurring questions, and identify process gaps that affect trainer and QA performance.

  • Maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials
  • Help improve Spanish-language QA workflows
  • Support contributor alignment as project guidelines and workflows change
  • Help identify process gaps and recurring quality issues

Requirements

Applicants should have native or near-native Spanish proficiency and strong English communication skills for understanding project guidelines and delivering feedback. You should be comfortable evaluating language against detailed rubrics and adapting content for Latin American Spanish, European Spanish, or both.

A background in Spanish writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, or related language-review workflows is required. Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is a plus, as is familiarity with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, or rubric-based QA.

  • Experience with remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is a plus
  • Familiarity with AI training, data annotation, LLM evaluation, or rubric-based QA is a plus

Helpful Background

Relevant academic preparation may include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a language, communication, education, or quality-focused field. Familiarity with common collaboration and tracking tools can also support success in this role.
