OpenTrain is recruiting a Peninsular Spanish Audio Transcriptionist to produce high-quality training data from real human conversations. You will turn spoken Spain Spanish into accurate, structured text while preserving natural speech details, including crosstalk, overlapping speakers, filled pauses, interruptions, background noise, and varying recording quality.
This is an entry-level, remote freelance contractor role completed independently and asynchronously. The expected time commitment is 20 or more hours per week, with hourly pay ranging from $10 to $35 USD.
You will create precise, verbatim transcripts of spoken Peninsular Spanish audio and apply consistent conventions across assignments. The work requires careful listening and sound judgment when recordings are fast, noisy, interrupted, or difficult to understand.
You should have native or near-native fluency in Spain Spanish, strong written Spanish, and exceptional listening skills. Success in this role depends on accurately understanding fast speech, regional accents, overlapping dialogue, and imperfect recordings while following detailed formatting rules.
Experience in professional transcription, court reporting, stenography, subtitle creation, closed-caption editing, media post-production, linguistics, phonetics, or language documentation is helpful but not required. Familiarity with regional Spanish accents, technical audio content, annotation platforms, data-labeling tools, or AI training workflows can also be useful.
