About this role
OpenTrain is recruiting for a Marathi Audio Transcription Expert to contribute to an AI training project focused on improving speech recognition for the Marathi language. The worker will transcribe, annotate, and record native-level Marathi audio to help train next-generation speech AI systems. This is a contractor role open to native Marathi speakers with a strong background in audio transcription or recording.

What you will do
- Transcribe and annotate Marathi audio recordings with high accuracy and consistency
- Review, proofread, and correct transcriptions to ensure clarity and precision
- Record new audio samples in native-level Marathi to enhance AI training data
- Apply domain-specific vocabulary and context to transcriptions as needed
- Utilize AI transcription tools and provide feedback on their effectiveness
- Follow established workflows for speech data processing and uphold data confidentiality standards

Required skills
- Native-level proficiency in Marathi, both spoken and written
- Demonstrated experience in audio transcription and/or recording in a professional or creative context
- Strong familiarity with AI transcription tools and speech data processing
- Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to proofread and deliver accurate transcripts
- Capacity for remote collaboration and effective communication
- Commitment to maintaining data privacy and confidentiality standards

Helpful background
- Background as an audio engineer, sound engineer, voice actor, or podcaster
- Familiarity with domain-specific vocabulary across varied industries
- Prior experience working on AI training datasets or similar projects

Schedule and location
This is a fully remote contractor role. Candidates set their own availability; the screening process asks how many hours per week you can contribute.
