About AI Content Evaluation Work
AI content evaluation is the human side of improving language models. Experts review model-generated text, compare alternative responses, write high-quality examples, and explain which outputs are accurate, natural, safe, and appropriate for their audience.
This role focuses on Latvian-language quality across translation, localization, customer support, education, general knowledge, and conversational writing.
The Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking a Latvian AI Content Evaluation Expert to review AI-generated Latvian content and create reference responses for AI training. You will combine Latvian language expertise, editorial judgment, translation-quality review, and structured evaluation of response quality.
This is an entry-level contract opportunity requiring at least 20 hours per week. The rate is $20 per hour, and the role is part-time and remote for contributors located in Latvia.
Employment type: Contractor, part-time
Location: Latvia
Time commitment: 20+ hours per week
Pay: $20 per hour
Working languages: Latvian and English
What You'll Do
You will assess whether AI-generated responses satisfy the prompt and meet high standards for Latvian language quality, meaning, cultural appropriateness, and safety. Your feedback will help improve the accuracy and usefulness of future model outputs.
Fact-check claims when needed and provide precise written feedback explaining errors and suitable corrections.
Requirements
You should have native or near-native Latvian proficiency and professional English proficiency at C1 level or above. Strong language judgment and attention to subtle differences in meaning are essential for this work.
A bachelor's degree or higher in linguistics, Latvian language or literature, translation, communications, journalism, or a related field is relevant, as is equivalent professional experience. At least three years of relevant experience is preferred, while experience with AI evaluation or quality assurance is helpful.
Native or near-native Latvian reading and writing ability.
Deep knowledge of Latvian grammar, spelling, punctuation, diacritics, declension, conjugation, word order, tone, and style.
Ability to work across formal, neutral, conversational, professional, educational, and public-facing Latvian registers.
Ability to identify mistranslations, unnatural phrasing, terminology problems, cultural mismatches, ambiguity, and subtle meaning shifts.
Ability to compare AI responses for correctness, fluency, fidelity, safety, tone, and cultural appropriateness.
Professional English proficiency at C1 or above for following guidelines and writing detailed feedback.
Relevant experience in writing, editing, translation, localization, journalism, education, content quality assurance, or AI evaluation.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to explain language corrections clearly.
