The Role

We’re hiring experienced Korean–English localization and linguistic QA specialists based in South Korea for a part-time contractor role. You will evaluate and improve AI-generated outputs by applying LQA/MQM error typologies, terminology and style guidance, and CAT/QA workflows to arrive at consistent, defensible quality judgments.

Workload: less than 20 hours per week. Pay: $27 USD per hour. Employment type: contractor, part-time. This role focuses on text data (translation/localization, evaluation and ranking).

What You'll Do

Your day-to-day tasks center on reviewing AI outputs and producing corrected text and explanations. You will apply structured evaluation criteria, produce high-quality model answers, and document error classification and reasoning.

• Evaluate AI-generated Korean and English text for accuracy, clarity, register, and adherence to prompts and guidelines.
• Apply MQM/LQA severity and category decisions; classify errors and provide root-cause reasoning.
• Write corrected outputs, model answers, and clear explanations for ratings.
• Rate and rank multiple AI responses using structured evaluation rubrics.
• Fact-check localized content (units, names, dates, references) using reliable sources.
• Use CAT tools, translation memories (TM), termbases, and automated QA checks as part of the workflow.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the core qualifications below. We will rely on your proven localization skill and professional judgment when evaluating AI outputs.

• Must be currently based in South Korea (location requirement).
• Native or near-native Korean proficiency with strong professional writing/editing skills for the South Korea locale.
• English proficiency at C1+ (reading and writing) to interpret prompts, sources, and evaluation guidelines.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Translation, Linguistics, Localization, Communications, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional localization/translation experience (multilingual localization preferred).
• Demonstrated experience applying MQM/LQA (consistent severity/category decisions and error classification).
• Proficiency with CAT tools and QA workflows, including TM/termbases and automated checks.
• Strong terminology management and copyediting ability (tone, register, inclusivity, cultural nuance).
• Ability to rigorously fact-check localized content using reliable sources and sound reasoning.

Preferred Qualifications

The following are not required but will make your application stronger.

• Prior experience with AI data training, annotation, or evaluation (RLHF/evaluation rating workflows).
• Demonstrated history of producing localization style guides or contributing to terminology governance.
• Experience working with structured evaluation rubrics and writing defensible feedback for reviewers or model teams.
