The Role

We’re hiring a remote Italian Creative Writer on contract to generate and refine chatbot responses for LLM training. You will craft culturally authentic, engaging Italian dialogue and improve AI-generated text so models understand nuance and regional variation.

This is a part-time contractor role paid at $28 USD per hour. The role requires a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week, with a preferred commitment of 20+ hours, and offers flexible scheduling.

What You'll Do

You will create original Italian text and edit AI outputs to make chatbot conversations natural, accurate, and culturally appropriate. Work is task-based and driven by prompts provided through the platform.

• Write prompt responses, short dialogues, and character descriptions in Italian.
• Edit and proofread AI-generated Italian to improve grammar, tone, and cultural relevance.
• Apply knowledge of Italian dialects and regional nuances to make responses realistic.
• Produce writing for label types such as prompt response writing, question answering, text generation, and summarization.
• Use provided tooling () and follow task guidelines closely.

Requirements

Applicants must be strong Italian writers. The posting preserves preferred and required details exactly: more than five years of Italian creative or content writing is preferred but not mandatory. Prior writing experience on data-labeling platforms is highly preferred.

• Fluent written Italian required; strong command of multiple writing styles and grammar.
• Preferred: 5+ years of creative or content writing in Italian (not strictly required).
• Highly preferred: prior WRITING tasks on platforms such as OpenTrain, OpenTrain, Appen, OpenTrain.tech, or similar (writing tasks specifically, not rating-only work).
• Portfolio of published works in Italian preferred but optional; be prepared to share links or descriptions.
• Basic English comprehension to follow instructions and communicate with the team.
• Editing and proofreading skills to ensure high-quality outputs.
• Experience using AI chatbot tools (e.g., ChatGPT) is an advantage but not required.
• Education: interview will ask for your highest level of education.

Interview and Evaluation

The interview is conducted via ChatGPT and includes questions about your platform experience, years/months of writing work, portfolio, and education. The interviewer will confirm you have performed writing tasks (not just rating) on annotation platforms where applicable.

At the end of the interview you will complete a short live test in which the prompts are given in English and Italian but you must answer in Italian. Performance on this test strongly influences your qualification score.

• During interview ChatGPT will ask how many years/months of writing experience you have on annotation platforms.
• Be ready to provide portfolio links or descriptions of published works.
• Test Question 1 (Italian): Descrivi brevemente un personaggio unico e vivace usando un linguaggio creativo. La tua descrizione dovrebbe includere almeno due tratti distintivi.
