The Role

OpenTrain AI is seeking an Italian Creative Writer for a remote contract role focused on large language model and chatbot training. You will craft authentic, culturally relevant responses to prompts and improve AI-generated text so conversations are engaging, accurate, and natural.

The work calls for a strong command of written Italian, including awareness of Italian dialects and regional nuances. Your contributions will help strengthen AI language capabilities and support conversational applications where Italian is essential.

• Pay: $28 USD per hour

What You'll Do

You will produce and refine Italian-language content across several AI training formats. The work combines creative writing, question answering, editing, and careful review of model-generated text.

Success in this role means creating responses that sound authentic to Italian speakers, reflect relevant cultural and regional context, and follow the intent of each prompt.

• Write natural Italian responses to prompts and questions
• Generate engaging and culturally relevant text for chatbot training
• Edit and proofread AI-generated content for grammar, accuracy, and quality

Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

This opportunity is intended for an experienced Italian writer with strong creative or content-writing ability. More than five years of Italian creative writing or content creation experience is sought and preferred, although substantial writing experience in Italian may also be considered.

Previous experience writing responses for AI or large language model training projects is highly preferred. Experience specifically creating written answers to prompts is more relevant than experience limited to rating or evaluating responses.

A portfolio of published Italian work, either online or in print, is preferred but not required. Experience using AI chatbot tools is also an advantage, not an essential qualification.

• Strong written Italian with excellent grammar and command of varied styles
• Ability to edit and proofread carefully
• Basic English for following instructions and communicating with the team
• More than five years of Italian creative or content-writing experience preferred
• Prior writing experience on AI or data-labeling projects highly preferred
• Published Italian writing portfolio preferred but not required
• Experience with AI chatbot tools such as ChatGPT is advantageous
• Applicants will be asked about their highest level of education

Interview and Italian Writing Assessment

The interview will explore your experience writing responses to prompts for AI or data-labeling projects, including the amount of time you have spent doing this work. You may also be asked to share a portfolio link or describe published work if no link is available.

At the end of the interview, you will complete a short assessment. Questions are provided in English and Italian, and your answers must be written in Italian. The assessment is designed to evaluate precise comprehension, creativity, tone, grammar, and practical writing ability.

• Describe a unique, lively character in Italian using creative language and at least two distinctive traits
• Write a brief Italian email to a supervisor requesting feedback on a prepared quarterly financial report, focusing on data analysis and presentation style
• Write a concise persuasive Italian email encouraging an introverted friend to speak at a local event, highlighting two benefits and addressing a possible concern
