OpenTrain is recruiting a German Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across German-language AI training projects. This is an hourly remote contractor role focused on reviewing German AI-generated content and trainer QA work, giving clear written feedback, and maintaining quality workflows.

What you'll do
You will evaluate German outputs and trainer reviews against project rubrics, create and update documentation, and support contributor onboarding and performance alignment.
Review AI-generated German content and trainer QA work for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, and cultural appropriateness.
Assess meaning preservation, instruction-following, formatting, and adherence to rubrics.
Spot recurring quality issues, escalate critical problems, and propose process improvements.
Provide precise written feedback to trainers and contributors to improve consistency.
Create and maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, quality notes, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
Schedule and run onboarding and training calls and align contributors to German-specific quality standards.
Answer contributor questions about wording, localization, and project expectations.
Requirements
The role requires strong German language skills plus the ability to read and follow project guidelines in English and provide clear written feedback.
Native or near-native German proficiency with strong reading and writing ability.
Strong English skills for following project guidelines and giving written feedback.
Background in German writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, or annotation.
Deep understanding of German grammar, spelling, tone, register, business writing norms, and cultural context.
Comfort working in remote collaboration tools and maintaining organized quality documentation.
Helpful background
These experiences make you especially effective but are not strictly required if you meet the core requirements.
Experience with Germany, Austria, and Switzerland usage differences in written German.
Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs.
Experience with prompt-and-response evaluation or rubric-based LLM QA.
