The Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking a French Audio Recording and Transcription Expert to create high-quality Canadian French and English audio data for AI training. You will combine audio capture, accurate transcription, linguistic annotation, metadata work, and quality review to produce reliable language assets.
This is an entry-level, remote contractor role for workers located in Canada. The engagement requires 20 or more hours per week, with compensation structured per task and an effective hourly equivalent typically ranging from $15 to $25 USD.

What You’ll Do
You will create and review bilingual audio and language data while maintaining accuracy and consistency across every deliverable. The work includes recording, transcription, annotation, metadata management, and quality assurance.
Produce and deliver clear audio recordings in Canadian French and English.
Transcribe recorded audio samples accurately using linguistic best practices.
Annotate audio files and transcripts with detailed metadata tags.
Review audio content, transcripts, and metadata for clarity, consistency, and quality.
Communicate findings, challenges, and insights related to audio assets and annotation work.
Manage multiple deliverables and meet project requirements with minimal oversight.
Required Qualifications
This role requires strong bilingual communication and careful, error-conscious work across recording, transcription, annotation, and quality review. Canadian French proficiency is especially important because the project involves dialect-specific language data.
Native or near-native proficiency in Canadian French.
Awareness of Canadian French dialects.
Fluent English communication skills.
Strong audio transcription and linguistic analysis abilities.
Experience applying metadata tags or annotating linguistic datasets.
Ability to review audio, transcripts, and metadata for consistency and quality.
Ability to document observations and maintain consistency throughout an engagement.
Helpful Background
Professional experience in audio engineering, sound recording, or a related audio production field can support effective contribution to the project. Familiarity with industry-standard recording equipment and software is also helpful.
