The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a French and English Audio Recording Specialist to create high-quality voice and environmental recordings for machine learning development. This is a part-time remote contractor opportunity requiring 20+ hours per week, with an advertised rate of $30–$65 per hour.

The role combines careful audio production, quality evaluation, metadata documentation, and compliance with privacy, safety, and technical recording requirements. Recordings may take place in controlled settings such as quiet offices and stationary vehicles.

What You’ll Do

You will follow supplied scripts and prompts to produce clear French and English audio clips. You will also create realistic background sound recordings, review audio samples for quality, and document completed files accurately.

• Record spoken French and English from provided scripts and prompts
• Listen to audio samples and assess clarity and intelligibility
• Capture realistic audio in quiet offices, stationary cars, and other controlled settings
• Generate requested background sounds such as paper rustling and surface tapping
• Follow recording, safety, privacy, and data-handling requirements
• Add accurate metadata to completed files
• Respond to coordinator feedback and revise deliverables when needed

Requirements

This role requires native-level French language ability and B2-level English communication skills. You should be comfortable following precise technical instructions, evaluating recording quality, and working independently on structured deliverables.
