The Role

OpenTrain is recruiting a Federal Litigation AI Evaluation Attorney to review and improve AI systems used in real-world legal work. You will focus on civil litigation, federal court motion practice, legal reasoning, case-law analysis, and persuasive briefing.

This remote, part-time contractor opportunity requires at least 20 hours per week and pays an advertised rate of $150-$300 per hour. The work is conducted in English and is available across the listed eligible countries.

What You’ll Do

You will apply consistent legal judgment to structured AI training and evaluation workflows. Your feedback will help improve the precision, quality, and legal reasoning of model-generated content.

• Perform simulated motion drafting, briefing, and litigation strategy exercises.
• Review AI responses to litigation scenarios and assess argument quality, legal analysis, and output precision.
• Create objective evaluation frameworks and grading criteria for AI performance on litigation tasks.
• Refine data, guidelines, and best practices for AI-driven litigation support solutions.
• Evaluate model-generated arguments, case-law analysis, and draft motions using consistent legal standards.
• Provide clear, actionable feedback that translates legal expertise into guidance for AI systems.

Required Qualifications

This role requires substantial experience litigating civil matters in federal court. Although the structured experience level is listed as entry level, the substantive requirements call for demonstrated federal litigation success and advanced legal judgment.

• Substantial experience with civil litigation in federal court.
• Strong background in federal motion practice, briefing, and case strategy.
• Documented success with at least three motions won in federal civil litigation.
