The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Civil Rights AI Evaluation Attorney to support legal review and content development for AI systems. You will work with civil rights legal materials, explain complex doctrine, create realistic legal scenarios, and assess model-generated outputs for accuracy, legal soundness, ethical compliance, and practical usefulness.

What You'll Do

• Review, analyze, and annotate legal documents and civil rights case studies.

• Evaluate AI-generated legal outputs and provide constructive, specific feedback for improvement.
• Research and summarize emerging trends, case law updates, and policy developments affecting civil rights.
• Apply careful standards for accuracy, clarity, ethical compliance, and practical applicability.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally with stakeholders and technical collaborators.

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership in the United States.
• Substantial civil rights law practice experience, including litigation or policy analysis.
• Familiarity with landmark civil rights cases, federal and state statutes, and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong legal research, statutory interpretation, analytical reasoning, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to synthesize complex legal information and present it accessibly to diverse audiences.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication with close attention to detail.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated legal responses for accuracy, legal soundness, and ethical compliance.

Helpful Background

Interest in technology, artificial intelligence, and innovative approaches to legal problem-solving is helpful.
