Estonian Language AI Evaluator

The work

As an Estonian Language AI Evaluator, you will review AI-generated Estonian content and create language data that helps improve AI models. Your work will cover general knowledge, education, customer support, translation, localization, conversational writing, and culturally sensitive content.

You will use careful language judgment to assess whether responses are accurate, natural, clear, safe, and appropriate for the requested prompt.

• Review grammar, spelling, fluency, meaning, terminology, tone, register, and cultural fit.
• Find mistranslations, unclear wording, unnatural phrasing, incorrect case forms, factual hallucinations, bias, unsafe content, and policy-risk language.
• Write prompts, high-quality Estonian reference answers, rewrites, and model responses.
• Rate and compare AI responses for correctness, meaning preservation, structure, safety, tone, and overall quality.
• Fact-check claims when needed and explain errors and recommended improvements in precise written English or Estonian.

What it pays and takes

This is a part-time contractor role for candidates in Estonia. The role is listed as entry level, but the description expects substantial language-focused experience and advanced Estonian and English skills.

• Pay: $35 per hour.
• Time: 20 or more hours per week.
• Location: Estonia.
• Languages: Native or near-native Estonian and professional English at C1 level or higher.
• Estonian skills: Strong command of grammar, spelling, punctuation, cases, word order, compound words, verb forms, tone, and style.
• Language judgment: Ability to distinguish formal, neutral, conversational, professional, educational, and public-facing registers.
• Attention to detail: Ability to spot subtle meaning changes, literal translations, terminology issues, culturally mismatched wording, and language interference.
• Experience: At least three years in writing, editing, localization, translation, content quality assurance, journalism, education, or another language-focused field is expected.
• Helpful background: A bachelor's degree or higher in linguistics, Estonian language or literature, English literature, communications, journalism, translation, or a related field.
• Preferred experience: AI data training, translation quality assurance, editorial quality assurance, localization quality assurance, or rubric-based evaluation.
