The Role
OpenTrain AI is seeking an Estonian Language AI Evaluator to review AI-generated Estonian content and create high-quality language data for model improvement. You will evaluate accuracy, fluency, grammar, cultural appropriateness, logical consistency, and alignment with the requested prompt.
The work covers general knowledge, education, customer support, translation, localization, conversational writing, and culturally sensitive content. The role is listed as entry level and requires at least 20 hours per week. Compensation is $35 USD per hour.

What You'll Do
You will apply precise Estonian-language judgment to AI outputs, explain errors clearly, and create examples that demonstrate natural, high-quality writing. Some assignments may require fact-checking claims or identifying content that presents safety, bias, or policy concerns.
Review grammar, spelling, fluency, meaning, terminology, tone, register, and cultural fit
Identify mistranslations, ambiguity, unnatural phrasing, incorrect case forms, factual hallucinations, bias, unsafe content, and policy-risk language
Create prompts, gold-standard Estonian answers, rewrites, and model responses
Rate and compare AI responses for correctness, meaning preservation, structure, safety, tone, and overall quality
Provide precise written explanations of errors and recommended improvements
Evaluate content across formal, neutral, conversational, professional, educational, and public-facing registers
Requirements
You must have native or near-native Estonian proficiency and strong professional English proficiency at a minimum C1 level for following guidelines and providing detailed feedback. Deep knowledge of Estonian grammar, spelling, punctuation, cases, word order, compound words, verb forms, tone, and style is essential.
The role description lists entry-level experience, while also expecting at least three years of experience in a language-focused discipline such as writing, editing, localization, translation, content quality assurance, journalism, or education.
Native or near-native Estonian command, including idiomatic usage
Professional English proficiency at C1 or higher
Ability to detect mistranslations, terminology errors, unnatural phrasing, and cultural mismatches
Strong attention to subtle meaning shifts and language interference
Ability to adapt Estonian across multiple registers and audiences
Ability to compare AI responses for correctness, fluency, safety, tone, and cultural appropriateness
Experience creating natural rewrites, reference answers, prompts, or other high-quality Estonian content
At least three years of relevant writing, editing, translation, localization, education, journalism, or quality-focused experience expected
Helpful Background
A bachelor's degree or higher in linguistics, Estonian language or literature, English literature, communications, journalism, translation, or a related field is helpful. Equivalent professional experience may also be relevant.
Experience with AI data training, translation quality assurance, editorial quality assurance, localization quality assurance, or rubric-based evaluation is preferred.
