OpenTrain is the hiring organization for this role. You will join a distributed team helping shape how AI systems learn from human-reviewed Catalan text.
About AI training work
AI training (also called data labeling or human feedback) is the human side of creating intelligent systems: people review, rate, and correct examples so models learn useful behavior. These roles are often remote, flexible, and accessible to language experts and editors, and they directly influence model fluency and cultural accuracy.
The role
We are recruiting a Catalan Quality Assurance Lead to oversee quality, consistency, and trainer performance across Catalan AI training projects. You will evaluate AI-generated Catalan text and trainer QA work against project guidelines, provide precise written feedback, and help contributors meet standards for accuracy, fluency, tone, and rubric adherence.
Employment type: Contractor, part-time.
Time commitment: 20+ hours per week.
Pay: $36.00 USD per hour.
Location: Candidates must be based in Spain (ES) or France (FR).
What you'll do
Review Catalan AI training content and trainer QA submissions for quality and consistency.
Provide clear, written feedback on language accuracy, fluency, spelling, grammar, tone, and formatting.
Evaluate outputs for instruction-following, meaning preservation, and rubric adherence (evaluation/rating and RLHF tasks).
Spot recurring quality issues and escalate them to improve QA workflows across remote teams.
Maintain and update style guides, trackers, FAQs, examples, honeypots, and onboarding materials.
Support onboarding and training conversations for trainers and QAs, and help activate contributors who are not working consistently.
Communicate project updates and quality expectations clearly and promptly to contributors.
Must-have requirements
You must meet every required qualification below to be considered.
Native or near-native Catalan reading and writing ability.
Strong English communication skills for writing feedback and coordinating with project teams.
Experience reviewing Catalan translation, localization, editing, content QA, AI training, or annotation.
Deep knowledge of Catalan grammar, accentuation, weak pronouns, register, and cultural context.
Ability to distinguish Central Catalan, Valencian, and Balearic variants when relevant.
Comfortable working with structured quality documentation and checklists.
Helpful background
Degree in Catalan, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, Education, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
Experience supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs.
Familiarity with rubric-based LLM QA, prompt evaluation, or broader AI training workflows.
Work format, tools, and data types
This role focuses on text data and includes evaluation/rating and RLHF-style tasks. You will work as a contractor on a part-time schedule and use project-specific trackers, style guides, and QA documentation supplied by OpenTrain.
Data type: Text (Catalan).
Labeling tasks: Evaluation rating and RLHF-style review.
Employment: Contractor, part-time; remote work within Spain or France.
How to apply
If you meet the requirements and want to help shape Catalan AI outputs, apply through your OpenTrain profile. In your application, highlight your Catalan language experience, examples of editing or QA work, and any experience supporting remote annotator or QA teams. OpenTrain will use your profile to match you with projects and track your contributions.
